This performance involves all students in the school and commemorates the Olympic games in song and word. The entire community as well as parents and family members of students are invited to attend one of the 1 performances on Wednesday. Local students wish fulfilled by Make a Wish Foundation By PATSY STODDARD Staff, Emery County Progress A dream eurne true for Rebekah Rissell recently when the Make a Wish Foundation deliveriKl a brand new computer to her Huntington home. Rebekah said, My first wish was to meet Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen but they have a waiting list of about 10 other kids, sol decided to go with my second wish which was fora new computer. I plan on playing games on it and using it for school reports. They ulso brought a scunner and a new desk und chair. I might be getting the internet loo," said RelH-kah- . Relrekah currently undergoes kidney dialysis three times each week for four hours each treatment id Castleview Hospital. She is currently off the waiting list for a kidney transplant because of an infection. She w ill return to the list w ithoul losing her current spot when the infection has been entirely taken care of. Dave Bryan of the Make a Wish Foundation delivered and set up Relekahs new computer. Bryan said, I was a volunteer with the Make a Wish Foundation for a year and a half. I would go out on a lot of calls. I like grantingwishes the best. Thats why w hen they said they needed someone to make this delivery I jumped at the chance to be with a wish kid again, said Bryan. Bryan and his friend Rochelle Bingham made the trip to Huntington. Bryan said he had ne er been down here before so he w'as happy to come down and set up the computer. They greeted Rebekah and her family with pizza, pop and balloons to make it an extra special day for Rebekah Rebekah is the daughter of Richard and Edna Bissell and is a senior at Emery Larissa Larsen of the Emery High Spardette Drill Team has Drill Team. been selected to the UHSAA Academic Larissa is a senior at Emery High School. She has maintained a 4.0 GPA all through her school years. She will be honored during an awards ceremony at the Utah State Drill Competition at Utah Valley State College in Orem on Ail-Sta- te Jan. 26. Larissa also won 1st place in the Drill Down Competition held during the Region Competition at North Sanpete High School. Larissa is the daughter of Rick and Debra Larsen of Orangeville. She is the granddaughter of Neldon and Lola Sitterud of Orangeville, and Delyle and Loretta Larsen of Cleveland. Girls basketball team faces Moab By JEROME BURNS School Reporter Girls, girls, girls; it was a against Moab on triple-head- er Tuesday night. This made for an exciting eveningin Green River. The Junior High Girls Basketball Team kicked the eveningoff with their unrelenting hustle leading them to victory. These girls play with such raw emotion that theyre almost more fun to watch than a high school team. With each passing game, this team seems to get all the more skilled, ensuringexciting basketball games in the future. The second game, the J. V high school team, although equally as exciting, did not have the same outcome. They were defeated by the visiting Moab team. This team consists of a very young, but determined group of girls. With their skills developing and their team work improving, they are a team that able. An average of 72 percent of everyone should watch. The third and final game was that of the Green River girls varsity team, who beat the talented Moab team. If real girls basketball is w hat you are looking for, one of these games is just what you need. Each game is a new with experience, Utahs civilian population over the age of 15 participated in the labor force in 2000. This is significantly higher than the na Sleep tional average of 67 percent.
