Joseph Rudolph Perla, age 72, died Feb. 7, 2002 in California. He was born Dec. 4, 1929 in Aspen, Colo., to John and Amelia Miljavac Perla. Married -- Dolores Reay Feb. 7, 1953, Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church. She died Oct. 9, 1957. Married Patricia Marshall Aug. 4, 1968. Member of the Catholic Church. Former resident of Carbon County where he was emVetco Corporation in California for 15 years. Served U.S. Army during Korean Conflict. She taught at Scofield Elementary, Raines Elementary, Helper Central Elementary and Sally Mauro Elementary. At Raines Elementary, she taught four grades and was the principal. She was especially pleased with her operettas. Lavisa will also be remembered for all of the tutoring and music lessons she gave over many years. In later life, her students were always part of her memories. After retirement from teaching, she devoted her time to her grandchildren and She will be dearly missed by her family and those whose life she touched. Graduate of the University of Utah in August 1958 with honors, where she was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society and Sorosis Club. She was also a member of local womens organizations and bridge clubs.
