Show JUNE 1, 1983 SOCIETY 0 0 n RUE CUNNINGTON Open House Planned For 80th Birthday An 80th birthday open house Wednesday, June 8, will honor Rue Cunnington of 5348 S. 5900 W., Hooper. HE WILL greet friends and relatives from 8 p.m. in the Hooper 4th Ward Cultural Hall, 5000 S. 5900 W Hooper and it is requested that gifts be omitted. Mr. Cunnington was bom June 8, 1903 in Salt Lake City, a son of John Robinson and Ellnora Wadsworth Cunnington. HE MARRIED Della Beasley Aug. 6, 1924 in Ogden. The marriage was later solemnized in Salt Lake LDS Temple. 6-- Repeat Temple Vows Taking her place among the Spring brides is the former Miss Kristi Briscoe who traded nuptial promises with William A. (Bill) Peterson in in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on May 24. THE NEW bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jay Briscoe of 95 E. 350 S., Kaysville. The groom is a son of Mrs. Bessie Peterson of 392 Ann Street, rites performed Clearfield, and the late Raymond Peterson. The couple was honored at a wedding breakfast at the Chuck-A-Ram- in Salt Lake a City following the ceremony hosted by the bridegrooms mother. That evening they received guests at a reception at the Chateau Center in Layton. FOR HER wedding and reception the bride chose a gown of lace overlay styled with a high neckline, yoke of lace on front and back of the bodice and long sleeves. The full skirt was in tiers of lace. She wore a picture hat with the veil extending to the floor. The bridal bouquet was made up of blue roses and pink and white carnations. Miss Cheryl Cornia was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Nora Olsen, Lillian Peterson and Allyson Briscoe. They wore gowns of pink with white lace overlay. They each held a long stemmed rose of pink, blue and white tied with blue streamers. THE BRIDES and bridegroom's mother chose gowns of navy blue. Their corsages were white lilies with miniature pink and baby blue wild flowers. Assuming best man duties was Terry Walkup. Ushers were Bert Peterson, Chuck Peterson, Joe Peterson, Greg Briscoe and Brian Briscoe. FOLLOWING a honey- moon trip to Lava Hot Springs, the newlyweds will make their new home in Roy. Julie Palmer attended the guest book. PRENUPTIAL parties were given by Cheryl Cornia, Nora Olsen in Kaysville and Gwen Manning in Pocatello, Ida. The bride graduated from Davis High School. The bridegroom is a graduate of Clearfield High School, np Kaysville Mrs. Kate Ware has been confined to the Humana Davis North Hospital where she underwent treatment. She is now at her home convalescing. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Gleason and family have been residing in Bountiful and have now moved to Provo to make their home. Mrs. Annette Kirby of Salt Lake City was an overnight guest of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kirby. Mrs. Mina Oldham is spending a month in San Diego, Calif, with her daughter and husband. Bishop and Mrs. Thomas Williams. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Gailey spent Friday and Saturday at Lyman. Wyo. and Flaming Gorge Dam last weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Koetitz returned from a two month vacation in California with their children in the San Jose area. After their return home, they took a trip to Bismark, North Dakota to attend the ordination service for their son. Jerry Koetitz who was ordained a minister in the Assembly of God Church. They spent time with Jerry and his family before returning home. Mrs. Patricia Barber entertained at a birthday party for her daughter, Sarah Jane 6 years old. She took Sarah Jane and 8 of her friends to Chuck E. Cheese in Ogden where they celebrated her birthday. She was accompanied by her mother Mrs. Goldie King, also Mrs. Leslie Birch, Mrs. Sandi Mr. and Mrs. Morris Johnson visited with their two sons, Dr. and Mrs. Daniel Johnson at Rexburg, Dr. and Mrs. Ray Johnson at Idaho Falls, Ida. and their families. Ken Bourne recently underwent major surgery. He is convalescing at his home. Keith and Jan Larsen announce the arrival of a daughter born on May 3 at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City. She weighed 7 lb. 7 oz. and will be named Whitney Ann. At home is a brother Zachary. Grandparents include Mr. and Mrs. Hal McGary of Shelley, Ida.; Mr. and Mrs. Grant Larsen of Redondo Beach, Calif. d Mr. and Mrs. Howard Clo-war- spent the Memorial weekend in Provo, Payson and Goshen, with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. George Sheffield attended the funeral service of their cousin, Craig Johnson held on Monday in Lindon, Utah. Mrs. Sanna Bird of Magna visited Tuesday with her sister and her family, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel McAllister. BunkaKits He worked at American Pack and Provision Co. in West Ogden for 15 years. HE BEGAN working for the Defense Depot of Ogden in November of 1948 as a and retired as engineer leader in the boiler plant in boiler-firema- 1968. Active in the LDS Church and is serving as High Priest secretary of Hooper 4th Ward. RUE AND Della have three children, Mrs. Carl (Bernice) Strebel, Roy; Blaine Rue Cun- nington, Hooper and Mrs. Junior (Ruth) Burnett, West Point. They have and 12 grandchil-dre- 32 Burner. Mrs. Lois Rasmussen and her daughter Mrs. Eileen Handley of Salt Lake City and her niece Miss Janet Bain of Farmington spent the holiday weekend in Page, Ariz. with Mrs. Rasmussens other randchildren. Rehearsals Start Soon Choir rehearsals for the Heritage Harvest Sunday evening devotional program, which will be held Sunday, July 3, at 7:30 p.m. in the Davis High football stadium, will begin soon. CHOIR rehearsals will start Sunday, June 5 at 8 p.m. in the Kaysville South Stake Center on South Main Street and will be held at the same time and place every Sunday evening during the month of June. All who would be interested in singing in the community choir are invited to attend the rehearsals. Burtons Held Reunion Sat. The descendants of John W. and Melinda Jane Adams Burton met Saturday evening, May 21 at the Kaysville LDS Tabemacle for their traditional family reunion. MR. AND Mrs. William (Bill) Matthews of Delco, Ida. were chairmen of the reunion assisted by Mrs. Matthews brothers, Waynard Bennett, Leland Bennett of Kaysville and Alan D. Bennett of Layton, children of the late William and Zina Bennett. It was for the adults of the family with over 50 members in attendance. OUT OF state guests in addition to Mr. and Mrs. Matthews were Mrs. Elaine Tanner of Palo Alto, Calif.; Mrs. Kathryn Christensen Kercher, St. Louis, Mo.; Mr. and Mrs. Cornell Jarman of Berkley, Calif, np 10 Off daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Peterson. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Gailey k to Richtraveled by land, Washington to visit with their son and his family, Mr. and Mrs. John Gailey over the Memorial holiday weekend.
