Show ( APRIL 27, 1983 Change In Logo Contest Rules - LAYTON Because the name Layton Civic Arts Association is so long, sponsors of the Logo Contest being conducted to select an appropriate emblem for the organization have decided that the entire name does not have to be part of the logo illustration. The initials LCAA can be used instead of the name. The initials can be placed at the bottom of the drawing. ENTRIES in the LCAA Logo Contest can be submitted to the Layton City Parks and Recreation Department by May 6. All sketches should be pen and ink drawings placed on an 8 '2X 1 1 size piece of paper. FIRST PRIZE of the contest will be a $25 check, dmg Layton Community Calendar - LAYTON The month of May is filled with special activities the citizens of Layton should be interested in knowing about and attending. May 1 through May 8 Michael Eckersley modem art exhibit at the Layton Heritage Museum. Hours daily Wednesday through Sunday. Admission free. May 3 Senior Citizens luncheon at 1 p.m. in the Layton High School cafeteria. Reservations must be called in by Tuesday afternoon, May 3. No charge. Mey 5 Layton City Council Meeting 7 p.m. in the council chambers. A public hearing on the proposed zoning ordinance is on the agenda. May 6 Deadline for entries in the Layton Civic Arts Association logo contest. The winner will be announced at a reception to be held May 14. May 17 Layton High School academic achievement awards program at 7:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium. May 19 Layton City Council meeting 7 p.m. in the council chambers. May 20, 21,12 A Light Night at the Opera presented by th Layton Civic Arts Association in the Layton High School Little Theater. Program starts at 7:30 p.m. Admission $2 for adults $ for children ages 3 through high school. Tickets available at the Layton Parks and Recreation office. Limited seating. May 22 Layton High School Baccalaureate services at 2 p.m. in the auditorium. May 26 Layton High School graduation exercises in the auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are required. A buffet dinner after graduation is given by the PTS A. This is by reservation only. MAY 27 School closes for summer. The newspaper would like to publish a Layton community calendar near the first of each month. Scott attributes some of his success to those who assisted him in being able to earn this award and they include Dave Toronto and Larry Day, Varsity coaches; Jack Robbins, scou- tmaster and Mary Anderson, Blazer leader. DeWitt Sorenson presented Scott with a special Eagle feather and the Kaysviile Rotary Club donated an Eagle 5 LBS. ACTIVITIES that Scott has participated in are senior patrol leader, assistant senior patrol leader and patrol leader in his troop.
