Contestants will be judged MR. AND MRS. IRVING CHRISTENSEN Celebrates 65th KAYSVILLE - Mr. and Mrs. Irving F. Christensen of Kaysville recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with a family dinner at the Creekside Inn in Salt Lake City. -- IRVING Fuller Christensen was the son of Harold A. and Sarah R. Fuller Christensen. He was born in Brigham City and moved with his family to Canada in 1901. Zina Mabel Williams Christensen was the daughter of Horace and Clara Elizabeth McLean Williams. She was born in Cardston, Alberta, Canada. Her parents were both raised in Kaysville but migrated to Cardston in 1889. Irving and Mabel met while they were attending high school in Cardston. They were married in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, July 14, 1917 and were later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. BOTH IRVIN and Mabel have been active in the LDS Church all of their lives. They have lived in the Kaysville 2nd Ward for over 40 years. She has served as president of the Relief Society on two occasions, once in Sacramento, Calif, and again in Kaysville. She was a visiting teacher for over 50 years. She has also served in other church auxiliaries. She is a member of the Sunflower Camp of the Daughter of Utah Pioneers and belongs to the Athena Club. Irving has served in the bishopric and also in the Sunday School presidency of the The Clearfield Chamber of Commerce presents Clearfield Days, 55th anniversary celebration, rescheduled for July 24. The schedule of events is as follows: CLEARFIELD Days Parade, p.m., sponsored hy Clearfield Jaycees and Clearfield Chamber of Commrce. Parade will start at 300 North Main and travel south on highway to 700 South State. Floats will be judged at 12 noon with all other entrants ready to march by 12:30 p.m. Clearfield swim pool will be 1 attempt to merge with Social Security, health benefit reductions etc. The present administrations policies have generated proposals that may cut benefits by as much as 40 percent. These same proposals may be again considered in next years legislation. The 1982 budget resolutions have been passed that adversely affect the concerned benefits will be discussed. The local chapter needs a strong membership to keep elected officials informed and ipstructed as to our needs and rights says J.A. Baker, local chapter presedent. " Miss Jones attends Davis High School, np Schedule Of Events For Clearfield Days Retired Federal Employees To Meet Thursday, July 22 An organized federal retirement chapter called the National Association of Retired Federal Employees centered in Layton, is dedicated to protecting all retirees and federal workers benefits. They invite all interested persons who are concerned about their present and future annuities to meet July 22 at 7 p.m. in the Layton senior citizens hall formerly the east Layton city hall at Rainbow and Emerald Drive. THE FUTURE of the federal retirement system will be discussed. Federal retirees have been through cost of living adjustment (COLA) freezes. Beutler exchanged marriage vows in the Salt Lake LDS Temple June 11, 1982. THE BRIDE is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard D. Taylor of Smithfield, Ut. and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John A. Beutler of Clearfield. The newlyweds were honored with a reception at the home of the bride's parents in was affiliated with a number of student organization as well as performing groups in student productions. GEORGE RAY STOKES 50th Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. George Ray Stokes were honored last Saturday by their children in observance of their golden wedding anniversary. The open house was held at the Sunset Stake Center in Sunset. The couple were married in Brigham City July 19, 1932. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. MR. STOKES was bom in Brigham City and spent his early life there. He has been employed by Anaconda Mining Co. of California and Utah and retired with 32 years of service with the U.S. government.
