MARTHA MAE TIPPETTS The mother of Mrs. Abbie Lowe of Kaysville. Mrs. Martha Mae Tippetts, who was years old died Jan. 18, 1981 at Cody, Wyo. 1 SHE W AS raised in Taiwan and had lived in New York. She lived the past four years in Layton and was a homemaker. She graduated from high school in Taiwan. in 1904. She was an active member of the LDS Church serving in many of the organizations. SHE WAS the mother of 12 children. Surviving are five sons and four daughters, Reed M. Tippetts. Lovell, Wyo.; Lionel M. Tippetts, St. George; John M. Tippetts. Salt Lake City; Wayne M. Tippetts, Phoenix, Ariz.; Fern M. Tippetts, Buena Park, Calif.; Mrs. Paul (Ruth) Black of Cody, Wyo.; Mrs. George (Abbie) Lowe, Kaysv ille: Mrs. Perry (Maline) Gooch, Mesa, Ariz.; Mrs. Ted L. (Leora) Anderson, Salt Lake City, two sons and one daughter preceded her in death. SHE ALSO has 30 grandchil-dre- n FUNERAL SERVICES were held on Thursday. Jan. 21. in and randchildren. Kaysville, died Feb. 20, 1982 at his home. He was bom Feb. 27, 1902 in Layton, the son of Richard and Alice Parsons Scoffield. He married Algie Simmons Sept. 4. 1924 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Slander LAYTON Verda Boyce Stander, age 62, of 2567 N. 400 W.- , Layton died Feb. 18, 1982 in the Davis North Medical Center after an extended illness. She was bom Nov. 26, 1919 in Escalante, Ut. a daughter of Hillel F. and Lettie Porter Boyce. She married Edwin H. Stander March 28, 1936 in Brigham City. Gerrard-stown- , W.V.; Donna S. Shen, Hsiang Shen, Yang Shen and Cen Shen, all of Taiwan. SHE RETIRED from civil service from Hill AFB after 27 years of service. She had lived in Roy and Layton, but was educated in schools in Escalante. She was a member of the LDS Church. Surviving are her husband of Layton; son and daughters, Charles A. (Chick) Scoffield. age 79. of 45 S. 300 E., basketball at Davis High and was also a baseball player. He was an elder in the Kaysville Second Ward. He had worked as a barber in Layton prior to coming to Kaysville and was the owner of Chick's Barber Shop in Kaysville from 1936 to 1971. After his retirement his son Alan Scoffield continued to operate the shop until 1975. Sad- Layton, died Feb. 19, 1982 at the U . of U . Medical Center in Salt Lake City. She was born Sept. , 1950 in Taipei, Taiwan, a daughter of Wu-Li- n and Sing Mei Hsi Shen. She married Herbert W. Sadler Oct. 12, 1972 in Taiwan. SHE WAS born in Peoa, Summit County, Utah, April 15, 1885. She moved with her fathers family to Cowley, Wyo., Big Horn Basin in 1900. Boyce, Ogden; sisters, Leona Spencer, Provo; Services Held Chesley Kaysville News In Washington j)jes J Funeral services for Jonathan Guy O'Banion, 26 of 340 W. 100 So., Kaysville, who died of a gunshot wound Sunday, Feb. 21, 1981 in the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City w ere held at 11a.m. at the Thornhill Mortuary, Spokane. Wash. INTERMENT was held in the Riverside Cemetery, Spokane, Wash. He w as born Oct. 11, 1955 in Billings, Mont., a son of Francis J. and Frances A. Dwinell Fry. He had been a steel worker. HE WAS reared in Spokane, Wash. He had lived in Clear field and lived in Kaysville the past five years. He graduated from Clearfield High School in Ogden 1975. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene. LAYTON Mrs. M. Irene Whitlock Chesley, 68, of 27 Ronald, Layton, died Feb. 24, 1982 at the St. Benedicts Hospital in Ogden of cancer. She was bom July 21, 1913 in Indianapolis, Ind., a daughter of Claude and Jospehine Voiles Whitlock. She married John C. Chesley Feb. 10, 1934 in Angola, Ind. SURVIVING are his parents of Kaysville, three brothers and one sister, Robert C. O'Banion, Spokane, Wash.; Daniel Morehouse and Kelly Fry, both of Kaysville and Mrs. Paul (Brenda) Yount, Spokane, Wash. Also survivMrs. Iva Andrews of Spokane, Wash. Funeral was under the direction of Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, np ing is a grandmother, SHE LIVED a short time in Indiana and then moved to Jackson, Mich, where she attended school, graduating from Jackson High School. Clyde W. Muir Dies In St. George Clyde Willard Muir, age 61. of St. George, Ut., died Feb. 25, 1982 in St. George. He was born June 3, 1920 in Clearfield, a son of Thomas and Corilla Harris Muir. He married Billie Bailey in San Diego, Calif, on Oct. 26, 1944. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. MR. MUIR lived in Cleai-fiel- d and Layton until he retired from civil service ei ployment at Hill AFB. He worked at the base fiv 8 years. After retiring, he ai nis wife moved to St. George. He was a member , the LDS Church and had b. various positions in the church. An active civic leader, he was a member of the Elks Lodge in St. George and volunteered his services for many charitable organizations. SURVIVING are his widow of St. George, sons and daughters, Mrs. Edward (Janet) Schofield, Portland, Oreg.; Billie Harold Powell, Judy Ray. both of Ogden; Bailev She was active in the Clearfield Community Church and was a charter member of the church. She taught Sunday School. Survwing are her husband of Layton: daughters. Mrs. Jacqueline Jooyan and Mrs. Susan Malan, both of Layton; eight grandchildren; brothers, Wayne C.
