No Even though the Davis deer hunt was County completed with mixed success for hunters due to weather and foliage conditions, there will not be a special hunt for the countys deer this year. Hunters are requested to send in a middle tooth from the lower front jaw to the Division of Wildlife Resources for aging purposes. Sex,' date of kill, and location of kill in Davis County should be indicated with the tooth. HUNTERS ARE instructed not to clean the tooth and to get the whole tooth as much as possible. The lower middle incisor tooth is used by personnel of the Division of Wildlife Resources to age deer in order to get an idea of the average age of deer in the Davis County herd. Teeth show growth rings in much the same manner as a tree and officers get a true indication of a deer's age by cutting his tooth in half and examining it under a microscope. THOSE HUNTERS of Davis County who were unsuccess-- , ful in getting their buck and did not apply for an antlerless or archery permit will have an opportunity of shooting an antlerless deer on one of the eight special hunts soon to be called in the northern part of the state.
