They welcomed into their home a little son born on June 8, 1977 at the Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful and he weighed 9 lbs and will be named Brian Paul. Smuin will be Mrs. remembered as the former Terri Brande of Kaysville. - Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Brande and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Smuin, all of Kaysville are The Mr. and Mrs. Clyde McIntyre, Centerville; Mrs. Mary Brande, Tooele; Mr. and Mrs. Levi Smuin, Salt Lake City; and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Case of Granger. The Mrs. Elsie George of Bountiful is delighted over the new addition. Rejoicing over the arrival of a baby daughter are Mr. and Mrs. Donald Droesbeke of Clearfield. The baby was born on May 28, 1977 at the Davis North Medical Center in Layton weighing in at 5 lbs. She is the fifth child for the Droesbekes and will be named Shalan VNkllN J.tllENEY Notes 87th Date Franklin James Cheney observed his 87th birthday anniversary on Friday, June 17 with his family and friends visiting with him. MR. CHENEY is numbered the stalwarts of among Kavsville Community. He was always concerned with keepingit clean and a desirable place to live and contributing much to the community. He has seen it grow from rags to riches, as the statement may be made. There has been tremendous growth over the past years. He is proud of the type of community it has been and is MICHAEL P. PLUIM Wedding Vows Mr. and Mrs. Roy L. Hodgson of 256 South 2000 West, Syracuse are announcing the marriage of their daughter, Miss Colleen Hodgson and Lt. Pluim. The marriage ceremony took place last Friday, June 17 at Michael P. the White House in south Ogden. THE bridegroom is the son of M.Sgt. (ret) and Mrs. Donald E. Pluim of 1448 Harrop, Ogden. President Lee Malan officiated at the marriage ceremony. They were honored immediately following their marriage with a reception, also being held at the White House. FOR HER marriage and reception the bride wore an original gown of imported silk. The bodice was accented with miniature tucks and floral lace embroidered with seed pearls. The sheer sleeves were also accented with a lace designed effect and seed pearls. A wide cuff was but- toned at the wrist. The full length skirt fell into soft pleats that extended into a chapel train. The same lace trim was featured in the today. Mr. Cheney was born on June 17, 1890, in Cublington, Buckinghamshire, Elngland. He was the son of Henry skirt. THE newlyweds spent a short wedding trip and plan to make their first home at sister-in-law- Fredericksburg, Virginia, where Mr. Pluim is stationed with the Marine Corp. Prior to her marriage the bride was entertained with several bridal showers. MR. AND Mrs. Kent Hodg- son and their two sons. Chance and Chase from Boise, Idaho and Mr. and Mrs. Dean Hodgson and son Brett from Denver, Colo., all came for the wedding and reception of their sister and brother-in-law- . vsb HE WAS educated in the schools there and also he became a member of the LDS Church, lt was his desire after joining the church to leave England and come to America. So at the age of 16, he was sponsored by a friend, Boss Webster to come to America and after arriving in Kaysville, he made his home with the Harvey King family. He was married to Beatrice Bames, a native of Kaysville and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bames on October 29, 1912 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died Sept. 28, 1946. AND Mrs. Cheney lived in Idaho, for a few MR. years, shortly after their marriage, where they homesteaded. He also worked on the Minadoka Dam project as paint foreman. While living in Idaho, two of their children were bom. After returning to Utah, he was employed at the Layton Sugar Factory'. MR. CHENEYS vocation Golden Date Mr. and Mrs. Forde Dickson, 495 W. 1550 S., Richville Lane, will be honored at an open house celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary, Friday, July 1 at the Morgan 1st and 2nd Ward cultural hall, 10 West Young Street, from p.m. FRIENDS and relatives are invited to extend their greetings, and enjoy an evening of dancing and reminiscing. Music will be furnished by The Milton Orchestra. A program Memories will be presented by the children and grandchildren of Mr. and Mrs. Dickson at 7 p.m. They were married June 16, 1927 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and have lived in Richville, Morgan County IN 1930 he was employed with the U.S. Government in the CC Camp program as construction foreman. During world war II he worked at the Ogden Arsenal as a painter. AFTER the death of his wife, he became the first custodian of the new Kaysville LDS Rock Chapel in the year of 1946. He retired in 1965. On November 5, 1947 he was Laycock. She died in 1968. MR. CHENEY has been a faithful and devoted church member and spent his life serving in various leadership positions. He is presently a High Priest in the Kaysville 2nd LDS Ward. He has served as a stake missionary. He was one of seven presidents of the Kaysville 2nd LDS Ward Seventies quorum, president of the Young Mens MIA, active member of the genealogical committee, temple worker and loved to sing in the choir and was a member of a quartet at one time. MR. AND Mrs. Cheney were parents of three children of which two are still living. His two sons are Phillip Clark Cheney and Evan James Cheney, both of Kaysville, one son, Noal. deceased. DICKSON was born in Richville, Oct. 6, 1902, the last child of Utah pioneer, Albert Douglas Dickson and Harriet Rosella Flint Dickson. He has been engaged in agriculture, Mrs. Sheldon Lewis of Kaysville and Mr. and Mrs. Ted dairy, sheep and cattle ranching. He retired from grandchildren. At the present time Mr. Cheney is living at Pappys Rest Haven at 523 North Main Street, Bountiful and invites his friends to visit with him there, np You years. He has served in many capacities in the LDS Church, some of which are president of the Blue Ridge District, in Misthe Maryland-Delawarsion; bishop and counselor of e the Richville Ward for 17 years, served for 8 years on the Morgan Stake High Coun- cil, supervising the Morgan Stake Mission, member of the stake Sunday School and MIA a two and a half year mission to the Northern States, where he was for a time president of the West Iowa District. He is presently the High Priest Group leader of the Morgan First Ward. He has been a member of the Morgan County Fair Board and Youth Recreation Committee.
