Show I WEEKLY REFLEX-DAV- NEWS JOURNAL, JUNE 23, 1977 IS mm 'Alice In Wonderland To Be Presented June 27 Thru July ff The Aftemnon Plavers will present derland, July 1, Theatre Alice in WonJune 27 through in the Babcock downstairs at Pioneer Memorial Theatre Adapted by Vern Adix from the original story by Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland" is an adventure into a wonderland of nonsense and imagination THE PLAY is full of the most fascinating characters to ever come alive a rabbit who carries a watch in his and loses hts kid glove, a caterpillar who quotes poetry, a Duchess who pocket sings violent lullabies to a baby who changes into a pig, the Doormouse, the March Hare and the Mad Hatter who give a weird tea party, a Mock lurtle and a Gryphon who dance a quadrille to their own songs, and finally a pack of playing card characters that hold a topsyturvy tnal in a crazy court Sharon Newman, a MFA berg, Tracy Kemp, Susan Abe, Nancy Siegel, Trudy Heaton, Mona Wu and Todd Dutson. Alice m Wonderland will run Monday through Friday, June 27 through July 1, at 2 Alice the p m. Following candidate in childrens theatre, will direct. The costumes for this colorful show are by Peggy Freeman. Lighting and set design by Robert Hawkes and special musical effects by Phil Mar- Afternoon Players will Griffin and the Minor Cannon, July 5 through July 6 The plays will then go into repertory along with The Leprechauns Magic, an original musical play for children, from July present tin THE CAST includes Debbie Dutson, Melody Johnson, Creed Ostler, Gerald B 11 Roe, through July 29 Carol Martin, Peggy Freeman, Jay Kirk and Sara Friedman A large cast of young people include Heidi WAIT DISNEY ptoqocnow Robyn Radford, Arlin Heaton, Rich Radford, Robin Young- - Horse 'Kllouss Holman, Tiffany Romney, Dance Class Offered At Davis U Of U Mid-Easter- n For those of you who have had Beginning Mid Eastern Dance and would like to con tinue on to Intermediate, a special section of that class has been scheduled because of popular demand IT WILL run along with the regular schedule of summer quarter classes at the Da is U beginning June 29 and ending 17 B0Ul IT BONES RICHARD Eubank will be conducting the Origami class as a five session workshop Mr Eubank learned Origami, the ancient art of Japanese paper folding, w'hile living and studying in the Orient Origami produces subtle and elegant sculptures in paper which may be used in ways limited only by the artists imagination For festive occasions, table or w'all decorations, or The figure holding the Origami paper flow'er is not a former student of Richard Fubanks Origami class but rather an assistant for instructor John Fnckson in the sense that John will be teaching a figure structure class in the fall that will deal with human anatomy The skeleton, recently purchased bj the Art Center, will be an educational aid for his students Christmas tree ornaments, young people as well as adults will find fascination in form ing the paper sculptures JOHN WILL be teaching portrait and still life painting this summer and his figure painting program will be initiated next fall Starting wlth the fundamentals of human anatomy, the class will expand into figure drawing and figure painting The basic premise for establishing a figure program is that the Art Center has offered portrait painting for two years and one of the important factors in portrait painting is realizing that a portrait is real ly a figure painting that strives to capture the likeness of a specific person The figure program woll enable students to acquire a greater knowledge of the total effect of a portrait ANOTHER Japanese art will be offered summer quarter Sumi-e- , Japanese ink painting The Sumi-e There will be an outdoor workshop and exhibit will be July 29 and 30 at the Homes tead in Heber Picnic and workshop are $5 with money due on June 30 Guests for the 50 picnic only are $2 c DAZZLING T ADVENTURE...
