A group of watercolors from the prominent artist, Dixon Stewart Maynard paintings will be featured for the March Art Exhibit at the Barnes Banking Company in Kaysville. ARTIST who Stewart, resides in Santa Clara, Calif., of Kaysville, consented to ship his paintings to Kaysville for this exhibit. Mr. Stewart is presently an art lecturer and teacher of portraiture at San Jose State College and is the son of Artist and Mrs. LeConte Stewart years prior to accepting a position as professor of art at of Kaysville. work. formerly HE WAS born and reared in Kaysville and educated in Davis County schools. His interest in art dates back to his early childhood. He was stimulated by the studio environment provided by his artist father. Mr. Stewart graduated from Davis High School and the University of Utah. He studied at the Art Students League, New York City, Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and in Europe. HE TAUGHT at Brigham Young University for eight San Jose State College, San Jose, Calif., a position he has held for the past 15 years. He has exhibited extensively throughout Utah and California and has won numerous awards for his with Mrs. Glen W. Cundall as chairman. Scouting has always been an enjoyable experience for Bryan. As a cub scout he earned all of the badges including the Arrow of Light. He has enjoyed working on his advancements through the Scout program. ADDITION to his regular advancement he also achieved the Order of the Arrow and attended a special troop leadership and development course. His father, K. Meldon Ward, is scoutmaster. He is also presently serving as the Kaysville 8th Ward Deacons Quorum president, and the senior patrol leader. IN IS in the 8th grade at Kaysville Jr. High. He is a member of the honor roll and BRYAN the school band. He plays the trombone and he, along with some other boys, received a high rating in an ensemble competition. His hobbies include reading, hunting and camping. He also enjoys all sports. Curaco, Guadalupe and St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands were some of the places they visited. They came home by way of Florida. Former Layton resident, Mrs. Snowden Roberts who now lives in Carma, Ida., recently underwent surgery and a period of hospitalization m Idaho. Clyde Roberts, her son, traveled to Idaho from his home in Quincey, Wash, to be with his parents while his mother was ill. As his mothers condition improved, Clyde traveled to Layton to stay a few days with his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Weldon Roberts. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Davis report that they have a new granddaughter. The baby was bom Feb. 28 m Salt Lake City to Glen and Glenda Davis who are now living in Salt Lake City. Glen and Glenda have two other children. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wilko and their family enjoyed a weekend of swimming and relaxation at Lava one Hot Springs. Mr. and Mrs. Golden Voss attended fast and testimony meeting in Huntsville last Sunday to witness the blessof newest tneir ing grandchild, Kallee Marie Hawks. KELLY JAMES LARSON Eagle Kelly James Larson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Ken Larson of 664 East 250 North, Kaysville has achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. highest rank in scouting that can be attained by a boy. The youth is a member of Troop 351 of the Kaysville 13th LDS Ward with Asel Evans as scoutmaster in charge. He is a counselor in his Deacons Quorum of his ward. FOR HIS service project he made 300 playing blocks for the Relief Society Nursery. At Kaysville Junior High School he is a member of the school band and plays the comet, and a member of the school traveling assembly. HE PLAYS quarterback on the Little League football team in Kaysville.
