Ute Knowlton were in Guatemala City, Guatemala to pick up another son who had just completed a LDS South American Mission at the time of the incident. THE VICTIM was staying with family friends. Police said the boy was still alive when taken to the Davis North Medical Center. He died shortly after 8 p.m. HE WAS born July 3, 1969 in Fort Meade, Maryland. Moved to Kaysville as an infant. He was a second grade student at H.C. Burton Elementary School and a member of the Kaysville 4th LDS Ward. FUNERAL services were held Tuesday, March 8, 1977 in the Kaysville 4th LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop Edwin Cammack officiating. Burial was in the Kaysville Memorial Park, np Ser vices Held Funeral services for Eaga Tapuvae Leota, 47, of 395 N. 850 E., Layton were held Saturday, Mar. 5 in the Layton 16th Ward Chapel. Bishop Keith X. Brown officiated. MR. LEOTA died Tuesday, Mar. 1, 1977 in the Davis North Medical Center after an extended illness. He was born Sept. 5, 1929 in Faala, Savn Island, West Samoa, a son of Tapuvae and Isapela Pill Leota. ON NOV. 22, 1949, he married Tauave F. Penial in Fagatogo, Tutuila, American Samoa. The marriage was later solemnized in the Los Angeles LDS Temple in 1958. He had been employed as a machinery operator at Hill Air Force Base. MR. LEOTA lived in Samoa until 1958 when he moved to Los Angeles, Calif. He moved to Layton in 1968. An active member of the LDS Church, he was a member of the Layton 16th Ward. He had served as a Samoa Ward. HE WAS the representative for the Lamamte Placement Program. Mr. Leota had also been a ward chorister and the High Priest group secretary. Surviving are his widow of Layton; six sons and one daughter, Esera Tapuvae Leota, Carl Leota, Atherton Leota, Wayne Leota all of Layton; Si le Leota, Chino, Calif.; Mrs. Steve (Nyoka) Egan, Kaysville, and Teleni Leota who is serving an LDS mission in South Dakota. HE IS also survived by three grandchildren, his parents of Compton, Calif. Three brothers and one sister, Val Leota, Faaolatana Leota, Loni Leota, Mrs. Soe (Lola) Tanuvana, all of Compton, Calif. Burial Kaysville Mr. and Mrs. LaVar Godfrey and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Chris Merkley drove to Logan Saturday where they were met by Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Higgle and Mr. and Mrs. Evan Godfrey of Clarks-ton- , Utah to be with Miss Diane Godfrey on her birthday anniversary. They held a fun birthday dinner party in honor of Diane. She is attending Utah State University and is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. LaVar Godfrey. Wendell Scoff leld has re- turned home from Capistrano, Calif, where he spent the past two weeks with his sister and brother-in-law- , Mr. and Mrs. Howard Sedgwick He enjoyed visiting many of the points of interest in the area as well as in the San Diego area. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Stuart were guests in Wellsville Wednesday of his sister, Mrs. Thelma Haslam. Mrs. Sarah Giles returned home from Phoenix, Anz. on Friday where she has spent the past weeks visiting with Mrs. Merle Cotney and Mr. and Mrs. Grant Bond. At Mesa she visited with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schimer and also with Mr. and Mrs. Dean Naylor. Upon her return, she was honored at a family dinner party hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Giles, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Giles, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Welty and families. The occasion was in honor of their granddaughter Karens birthday. Mrs. Goldea Millar from Bemidji, Minn, is visiting with Mrs. Sarah Giles for a few days. Ralph Layton is once again confined to the Davis North Hospital where he is undergoing treatment. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Dunham and daughter Megan of Provo were weekend guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Major and family. Katie Kirkpatrick, the in- fant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Kirkpatrick is once again confined to the Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful where she is very ill. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Price of Logan have moved into their new home in the Fair-fiel- d Estates to make their home. Mr. Price is manager of Sprouse Reitz Store in where he spent the past week on a government business trip. Mrs. Edith Hutchinson and her son, Joe Hutchinson were weekend house guests of Mr. and Mrs. Karl Hutchinson and family. They came for the wedding of her grandson, Bill Hutchinson on Friday evening. Mrs. Edith Hutchinson is the mother of Karl Clearfield. Nicole and Todd Bolyard of Salt Lake City spent Saturday and Sunday with their aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. David Sanders. The infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Lefler is confined to the Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful with pneumonia. Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Maxfield entertained their bridge club at their home Saturday evening. Twelve guests attended. Enroute home they spent a week in San Diego, Calif, with friends, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Fowles and Mr. and Mrs. Dean Judd. They arrived home Sat., Feb. 26. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Brian spent the weekend in Pocatello, Idaho where they attended the Weber State College basketball playoff at the Minidome. Miss Kathy Beckstrom entertained at a dinner party at her home after the Sadie Hawkins dance at Davis High School, Saturday evening. Guests were Troy Howard, Jane Hill, Matt Gregory, Ann Holbrook and Dayton Cook. Robert Templeton spent a week in Columbus, Ohio where he attended the Ohio Gun Collectors Show. Dean Storey, Victor Rickman, Jim Hales, Jeff Lunds-troand Gary Bennett were guests of Kelly Beckstrom at Jackson Hole, Wyoming at conthe Sweetwater dominiums while on a skiing trip to Targee.
