Mack Watkins recently accepted the responsibility of Campaign Chairman for the 1976 United Way of Davis County Campaign. At a recent United Way Executive Committee meeting, Mr. Watkins reported that the 1976 Campaign Goal would be $53,000, an increase of $5,820 over that raised last year. GRANT WALLACE Finishes Training Navy Seaman Grant H. Wallace, son of Mrs. Juanita Hopkins of 442 S. State 66, Clearfield, has completed recruit training at the Naval Training Center, San Diego. DURING the training cycle, he studied general military subjects eight-wee- k designed to prepare him for further academic and training in one of the Navys 85 basic occupational fields. Among the subjects he studied were seamanship, close-orddrill, navy history and first aid. A FORMER student of Clearfield High School, he er joined the Navy in May 1976. Willis Basset Is Promoted Navy Machinists Mate Second Class Willis D. Bassett, 23, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde C. Hill of 845 Sherwood Drive, and whose wife Bonnie is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leo B. Collard of 169 E. 900 N., all of Layton, has been promoted to his present rank while serving aboard the ammunition ship USS Flint, homeported at Concord, Calif.
