It will have a foyer type main entrance with a glass front and house the restrooms, kitchen, stairway into the stage area and storage areas for cleaning supplies, tables and chairs. Kjar reported that brick work is being cleaned and repaired by Snow College students under the tutelage of an experienced mason. Eagle Scout project Council members approved Daniel Roses request to hang numbers on residents houses for his Eagle Scout project. People would supply or buy the numbers from him. Rose said that he wanted to do the project so emergency people can find houses, many of them were not raised in Moroni and new people are always moving in. He requested the city to write him a letter of approval, which they agreed to do. A citizen asked council members if they could make an ordinance to require people to put numbers on their houses, but the request was rejected because council members didnt think forcing people was a good idea. while that the school district is working on a grant for a resource officer, but will still need to raise the tax mill levy, which is on the next election ballet, in order to match the grant. If the measure is passed by voters, the district could raise $350,000, or more, that could be spent on the planned "Resource Officer", computers, books or anything except teacher wages. Commercial truck problem Councilman Larsen expressed concern with commercial trucks breaking down drainage pipes and suggested posting a notice in Moronis commercial businesses for truckers to be cautious where they park. Larsen told council members that the Planning and Zoning Commission is still working on the problem, but there are so many bulk trucks in town, they are trying to accommodate the citizens. Osmer Beck, son of Chad and Jackie Beck, Spring City, North Sanpete High School junior, won the State Junior Duck Stamp Contest, His acrylic painting of a wood duck won him $1,000 and he will be the sole representative o the State of Utah at the national contest to be held in Washington D.C. in May. He recently was honored at a reception held at the Wildlife Conservatory in Ogden. He has been drawing and painting wildlife since elementary school and plans to become a professional wild life artist after graduation. If Osmer wins the national contest, his rendering will be printed on the national stamp, he will win $2,500, and he will receive an all expense paid trip to Washington for the Professional Duck Stamp Contest. Rules for this contest are very strict, entries are judged by professional artists and biologists who look at the artistic merit, composition, and anatomical correctness. Colors, feather patterns, and natural surroundings of the species depicted must be true to life.
