Bench learned the Fountain Green music celebrates grand opening FOUNTAIN GREE- N- Fountain Green Music, located at 74 South State, celebrated its grand opening on May 14, with a full i house. Award Grammy winning Kathy Kallick Band performed live, to a standing room only crowd. After the concert, Kathy Kallick said that it was one of the finest and appreciative crowds. Her two encores and standing ovations were a sure sign that Sanpete liked her as well. The store will be featuring national bluegrass and acoustic acts every four to six weeks as well as sponsoring an open mic night once a month for local and state wide musicians. Fountain Green Music, owned by Russ Evans and his daughter sell acoustic guitars. Alissa, FA1RVIE- banjos, mandolins, dobros, fiddles and bass fiddles. They both play in the band "Gift Horse". Classes of instruction will be offered for each instrument. ' A full scale recording studio in the store is being developed for local as well as out of town recording projects. The music store and the Evans are committed to the American folkart form of bluegrass and acoustic music and the preservation and performance of it. Fountain Green Music, along with Central Utah Telephone are the major sponsors for the NOR-BES- T Birch Creek Bluegrass Festival held in Fountain Green this July 9th and 10th.
