Show Page Six - The Pyramid - September 16. 1998 MT PLEASAN- T- PTA will fill the streets with music, fun, food and games beginning at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 19, Funds raised will be used to for the purchase equipment school. This will bringing about the first family day street festival behind the main street businesses. The festival is a creative fund raiser that replaces door to door sales by our elementary school children. With activities for the whole family, the festival will hopefully be a favorite with everyone. For younger children, there will be carnival style games, soda pop, balloons, and snow cones for a minimal charge and free face painting. A bake sale with lots of treats will be prepared by local cooks. Hamburgers, cheeseburgers, and hot dogs will be provided by Caseys. Many merchants will join in the festival by holding sidewalk sales. Crafters will set up booths with many items from area artists. Pleasants city council to ask for an additional name to be placed on the 7th South street signs. They want to add Hawk Blvd to the street sign and Mayor Christensen indicated that an ordinance was passed in 1987 allowing this request. Council agreed to the request and Councilman Blackham asked that they go back and "...find out exactly the name that you want. The NSHS students also requested permission to change the annual Homecoming Decoration plans. Palmer said, "We appreciate being able to decorate the businesses in town, but this year we would like to paint 7th South." Jarrett favored the idea but asked that they worked with the police department to alter the traffic patterns while they paint.
