Pleasant Kyler Robert announces the marriage of his parents, Tara Ann Shelley and Timothy Kenneth Jameson, on Saturday, Oct. 19, 1996. A reception will be held in their honor that evening from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Mt. Pleasant City Hall Blue Room, 115 West Main. Parents of the bride are Susan K. Anderson, Salt Lake City, and D. Louis Shelley, Mt. Pleasant. Parents of the bridegroom are Kathleen Peterson, Mt. Pleasant, and Kenneth Jameson, South Carolina. NSMS students attend Harvest Homecoming by Robert Williams MORON- I- Three bus loads of North Sanpete Middle School seventh grade students attended Harvest Homecoming at Capitol Reef National Park last week. Upon arrival, students were divided into two groups with leaders to join in pioneer festivities and skill demonstrations. Groups rotated through the park to watch tatting, quilting, rug braiding and weaving at Gifford Farmhouse. In the yard, they watched Leah Porters demonstration of household chores including the importance of having the wash hung out early in the morning and in the "correct" order. She reported that if the washing was running late, students would be asked to hang clothes to keep in the proper neighborhood pecking order. Outdoor demonstrations included churning butter and tinsmith-ing- . Students were able to try their hand at churning butter with a restored wooden chum and also a more modern glass chum. They also viewed samples of individualized butter molds with wheat and other designs. They were married Oct. 29, 1946, in Pioche, NV. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on June 17, 1954. They are the parents of four children, Oleah, Murray; Vernon, Wales; Danny, Moroni; and Ra Nae, Mt. Pleasant. Performances are scheduled for Nov. 8, 9, 15 and 16, at 7:30 Preston W. Cook, son of Tracy and Marian Cook, Moroni, has been called to serve in the Charlotte North Carolina LDS Mission. Students also learned about making soap from rendered lard and lye as well as making hand dipped candles. After the demonstrations students rode on an authentic wagon pulled by mules and then ate their picnic lunches in the shade of apple and pear trees, which they sampled. They also visited the one-rooschoolhouse in Fruita. Throughout the day students participated in hands-o- n pioneer activities. They were encouraged to remember their heritage as Utah celebrates its 100-yeanniversary. ts great-grandfath- p.m. A matinee performance will be on Nov. 16, at 2 p.m. Ernest Larson, a Gunnison dentist, will take the part of Elwood P. Dowd, a gentleman who spends the majority of his time with his friend Harvey. Dowds sister, Veta Simmons, will be played by Barbara Peterson. Veta would like to commit her brother to Chumleys Rest, a sanitarium for mental patients. The sanitarium is run by William Chumley who will be played by Wayne Reeves. At the home, we meet Dr. Sanderson, played by Nathan (Dave) Hampton; Nurse Kelly, played by Rebekah Reeves; Wilson, played by Jesse Reeves; and Ms. Chumley, played by Tanya Olsen. Liz Blauer plays Dowds niece and Joanie Arson plays Dowds aunt, Ms. Chauvenet. John Keeler plays Omar Gaffney, Diane Cote plays B.J. Lofgren, and Mindy Layton plays Miss Johnson. Judy Mickelson will lend her voice to Miss Tewks-burr- y accompanied by Jane Braithwaite. The role of Harvey has still not been cast. Noted local artists Robert Armstrong, Albert Antrei and Kim Christison are all being considered for the role. The play is directed by Ivo Peterson and Diane Keeler.
