Show Page Four - The Pyramid - April 5, 1995 Snow garners double header win ed in handing Utah Valley their third loss of the season. Game two of the afternoon looked like it was going in the same direction with Utah Valley getting the first run in the bottom of the second inning and the Badgers were being stymied by good pitching by the Wolverines. "They were doing a good job of keeping us off balance," said Andersen. "They were throwing offspeed stuff and a lot of breaking balls that we werent able to hit. The Badgers got their opening in the fifth inning when an error with two outs allowed Snow a baserunner. It looked to be unnerving to UVSC as the next batter, TJ King, of Gunnison, took the first pitch over the fence for a two run homerun and the Badgers went up 1 and never looked back. Snow added three more runs in the bottom of the seventh, two were walked in by Utah Valley by Gary Chidester EPHRAI- M- The Snow College Badgers proved once again that great pitching beats good hitting in a double header sweep of Utah Valley State College and 1 Saturday afternoon. -0 5-- Ben Byrd pitched the shutout in the first game and had to get out of some sticky situations. In the fifth inning the Wolverines loaded the bases with no outs. Byrd then struck out the next batter and got help from his best friend the double play. "I wasnt sure I could leave him in there, but he has a way of getting out of trouble and it worked out for him to get the complete game and we got the win. " Snow College managed just one run, but it was all they need 2-- pitching. Steve Gordon got the win in game two for the Badgers as Ryan Jensen came in for the save in the top of the seventh inning.
