PLEASAN- T- The number of housing units in every town in Sanpete County increased during the ten years between 1970-8- 0 according to the 1980 census Population and Housing report of the U.S. Census Bureau. The town of Sterling led the rest ofAhe county with a 60.4 percent increase in housing units during that period. There were 48 housing units in 1970 and 77 in Sterling in 1980 according to the report. Following close behind Sterling was Mayfield with a 58.4 percent increase. In 1970 there were 89 housing units and in 1980 this number had grown to 141. A 53.3 percent increase was shown in Fayette which had 42 housing units in and 63 in 1980. Most other larger cities in the county grew by from 30 to 40 percent housing 1970 1980. Wales grew 36.4 percent from 44 in to 60 in 1980. In Spring City the percentage of increase was 31.8 from 217 to 286 in 1980, according to the 1980 census. Mt. Pleasant had a 34.9 percent increase rising from 584 to 788. In Moroni the percentage of increase was 31 going from 313 to 410 while Fountain Green showed a 30.1 percent growth in housing units going from 186 to 242 in the period. Fairview City was the lowest in the county with a 21.4 percent increase in housing units going from 296 to 358 during the 10 years.
