PLEASAN- T- A chorus of ap. proximately 80 and an orchestra of 40 will combine musical talents to present Handels Messiah at the Mt. Pleasant Stake Center Sunday, December 20 at 7 p.m. Conductor Steven Rosenlund will direct the chorus which will sing some twenty-fiv- e numbers from the famed work. Denise Wadsworth is musical director for the orchestra. Soloists for the evening's performance include Boyd Goble of Gunnison; Luke Woolf, Jolene Christensen, Opal Miller, and Melody Phillips, all of Mt. Pleasant; Luella Hall and Myra Shelley of Fairview; and Courtney Syme of Spring City, The Mt. Pleasant LDS Stake is sponsoring this years production but Rosenlund said participation is not limited to church members. Members of the chorus and orchestra include several members of the community who are not members of the church as well as some residents from the Moroni LDS Stake. Committee chairmen for the Messiah ' include Earl and Leslie Clark from Spring City and Dr. Gene Speakman of Mt. Pleasant. Rosenlund invited young people and to the front so they can see what is going on since this will be the first opportunity for some to see a full chorus and orchestra. The presentation starts promptly at 7 p.m. and the audience should be in their seats by at least 6:45 p.m. Audiences of these modern times are not so limited as were those of former days.
