Clifton Linford; back, current Mayor Gerald A. Purdy, left; Glen W. Cundall, David E. Bean, Gar T. Elison and Charles H. Dredge. Theres MAYORS HONORED By NORMA PREECE Kaysville Mayor Gerald Purdy paid tribute to each of the eight former mayors of the city, Saturday evening during an open house held in their honor at the Art Gallery in Kaysville. DURING THE brief ceremony. Mayor Purdy introduced each of the mayors. Judge Thornley K., Swan. Emil M. Whitesides, J. Clifton Linford, Lloyd A. Bishop, David E. Bean, Charles H. Dredge, Glen W. Cundall and Gar Elison. He related some of the special ALUTE TO 'hi ITALY MR. AND MRS. BRIAN COLEMAN accomplishments each had made to the city during their term of office, after which he presented a framed certificate of appreciation to each. IT IS interesting to note it was on the 33rd anniversary that Kays Ward was organized later naming the city Kaysville. The first mayor was Thomas F. Roueche appointed in 1868, with 28 .mayors serving to date. MOST OF the mayors served two terms in office w ith Mayor J. Clifton Linford serving six consecutive years and later serving The Sunflower Camp of Daughters of Utah Pioneers held their opening social at Gailey Park in Kaysville on Thursday with a pot- - luck lunch and short business . meeting. A large number of citizens were on hand to pay tribute to the mayors, np eight members of the former Kays Creek Camp. The Kays Creek Camp has been dissolved.
