En route home they visited with her brother and family, Mr. and Mrs. Noal Black in Orem. Mrs. Joe F. Preece entertained at a miscellaneous bridal shower at her home Friday evening in honor of Miss Lisa Robertson of West Valley City who will be married June 29 to her nephew, Don Buhler. Assisting hostesses were Doris Hensler, Salt Lake City; Joyce Buhler, Farmington and Colleen LDS Missionaries Buhler, Centerville. Twenty guests attended. Hunsaker, of 357 W. 2300 N Sunset, has been called to serve in the Johannesburg, South Africa Mission. HE WILL speak at the Sunset 8th Ward Chapel, 2431 N. 250 W Sunday, June 24 at 2:30 p.m. He is a 1983 graduate of Clearfield High School and completed one year at Weber State College. MARY ANN HOMER Mary Ann Homer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Homer of 15 S. 760 E., Kaysville, has been called to serve in the France, Paris mission. SHE WILL speak Sunday, June 24 at the Kaysville 9th Ward at' 12:45 p.m. The chapel is located at 201 S. 600 E Kaysville. She will enter the MTC on June 28. A Davis High School and seminary graduate, she has attended Brigham Young University for two years and has been employed in Boston. Mass. MARY ANN will be honored at an open house following the meeting at the home of her parents, between the hours of 7 p.m. at which time all friends and family are invited to visit with her. vsb 3-- son-in-la- Lynn W. and Arlene Burton of Layton have received a mission call to serve in the Arizona-Temp- e field and will serve at the Mesa Visitors Center. THE COUPLE will speak Sun- day, June 17 at 11:30 a.m. in the Layton 32nd Ward Sacrament meeting. The chapel is located at 789 E. Wasatch Dr., Layton. They will enter the MTC on July 4. Elder Burton has served as a bishop of the Layton 5th Ward for seven years, has been a patriarch in the Layton Stake, Layton East Stake and in the Layton Holmes Creek Stake, serving a total of 22 years. HE RETIRED in 1982 after being employed at R.C. Willeys Furniture Store in Syracuse for 18 years. Mrs. Burton has held numerous positions in all auxiliaries of the church all of her life, vsb Bennett To Report Sun. Elder Steven R. Bennett arrived home June 15 from serving an 18 month LDS mission to the Mission. ELDER BENNETT will give his mission report at his Homecoming on Sunday, June 24 in the Kaysville 17th LDS Ward at 1 p.m. at the chapel at 875 E. 200 N. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Bennett of 433 N. 1050 E., Kaysville. np ELDER HIRSCH1 Elder Kenneth David Hirschi, son of Mr. and Mrs. Max Hirschi of 365 W. 100 N., Kaysville, has been called to serve in the Texas Houston Spanish speaking mission. HE WILL speak in the Kaysville 1st Ward, 198 W. Center, Sunday, June 17 at 9 a.m. He will enter the MTC on July 5. Elder Hirschi is a 1983 graduate of Davis High where he was a member of the National Honor Society and a member of the cross country and track teams. He was also a member of the State Spartan Athletic Congress Team which competed nationally in Albuquerque, New Mexico and Cincinnati, Ohio. He has earned his On My Honor and Duty to God Awards and has attained the rank of Eagle Scout. He served in the presidency of each of his priesthood quorums having most recently served as Priests assistant to the bishop. He and his brother, Clark, were assistant scoutmasters in charge of the ward Boy Scouts Summer Camp at Camp Bartlett the summer of 1979. np Elder Paul S. Beck, son of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Beck of 227 N. 2600 E., Layton, has been called to serve in the Brussels, Belgium Mission. HE WILL speak Sunday, June 21 at the 21st Ward Sacrament meeting at 1 p.m., at 1410 E. Gentile St. Elder Beck is a graduate of Layton High School and LDS Seminary. He served in many leadership positions and for the past year has been a student at Brigham Young University. He has been a member of the Folk Dancers there. AN OPEN house will be held at the Beck home the afternoon following his farewell. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with him between 7 p.m. vsb 5-- Kaysville Miss Rochelle Critchfield of Oakley, Ida. is visiting with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Garrett. Mr. and Mrs. John Briggs are parents of a son, Brian Gordon, bom April 28 and weighing 8 lb. 8 oz. He is their fifth child. Mrs. Briggs was the former Carol Gurr of Kaysville. Grandparents include Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Gurr, Kaysville; Mr. and Mrs. John C. Briggs of Salt Lake City. Dr. and Mrs. Robert Christensen and children Weston and Bryn were dinner guests Memorial Day of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harol Gailey, Both Dr. Christensen and his wife Chris ran in the Memorial Marathon in Salt Lake City. Fritz Michael is seriously ill the past weeks at the Humana Davis North Hospital where he underwent major surgery. Mr. and Mrs. Don Preece of Draper and their daughter Mrs. Dwight Marchant and three sons, Greg, Shawn and Adam of Salt Lake City were visitors on Memorial Day of Mr. and Mrs. Joe F. Preece. Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Whitesides and family and two friends Jane Hyde and York Majors vacationed a week in Canada. They visited in Southern Alberta," Cardston and at Lethbridge. At Lethbridge they were guests of her parents Dr. and Mrs. Heber L. Matkin and other relatives. They also attended a family reunion while in Canada. Mrs. Lola Kinsey entertained at a bridal kitchen shower at her home Thursday evening in honor of her niece Miss Susan Fillmore of e is a Salt Lake City. The daughter of Mrs. Beverly Fillmore. The twenty-fiv- e guests included family members. Matt Snell, son of Dr. and Mrs. George F. Snell will spend two months on a health service internship, in Israel and the Holy Land. He will leave June 23 and return Aug. 22, with the BYU Study Abroad Program. Mrs. Esther Clay spent the past two months in Springfield, Ore., with her mother, Mrs. Inga Peterson. Mrs. Peterson accompanied her back to Utah to stay for ahile. En route home from Oregon they spent time in California where they visited with a nephew Tom Martin at Redbluff, and another nephew Joe Mack at Susanville and their OgfTCHRq Daniel J. Doyle Daniel James Doyle, 78, of 210 W. 2650 N., Layton, died SaturSt. Beday, June 2, 1984 in the nedicts Hospital after a lingering illness. HE HAD been a member of the Catholic Church. He had been a member of the Operating Engineers Union, Loc-a- l 3. HE WAS born Oct. 8, 1905 in Ogden, a sun of William and Edith Mary Clausse Doyle. On April 10, 1926 he married Helen Rosamond Lindstrom, in Brigham City. She died Sept. 26, 1958. He married Ina M. Barker on Dec. 9, 1964 in Elko, Nev. SURVIVING are his widow of Layton, one son and four daugh-ters- , Daniel James Doyle Jr., R0y Mrs. Stanley T, (Mary) Wolsey Kaysville; Mrs. Cecil P. (Edith) Fisher, Mrs. James (Helen) , both of South Ogden; Mrs James L. (Judy) Crase, Ogden. Also three Mrs. HE HAD lived in Ogden and He moved to Layton in 1973. He had been employed as a heavy duty equipment mechanic for the Gibbons and Reed Construction Company. He had also worked for the Defense Depot in Ogden. He retired in 1970. Ted A. (Penny) Mayo, Ogden; 24 grandchildren and 24 greatgrandchildren; and a brother, A. Doyle, Ogden. GRAVESIDE services were held Wednesday, June 6, in the Ogden City Cemetery.
