Three articles are the 10th, 11th and 12th installments of The Salt Lake Tribune's Centennial Collection Series, covering the anti-Mormon crusade and imprisonment of polygamists, the Woodruff Manifesto, the final successful struggle for statehood, and Utah’s ma- turity in the 20th century. Other stories in the section includeaninstallment on womenwhofigured prominently in Utah’s history and a story from the newspaper’s continuing series “In Another Time.” That series relates interesting incidents pertinent to the life and times of early settlers whose descendants became leaders in the territory, providing the backboneand fiber that carried Utah to statehood in 1896 and to the edge of greatness in 1996.
