No clues will be hidden in news columns, editorial matter or classified ads, just in display ads of the sponsoring merchants in this section and elsewhere in the paper. There will be from one to five clues in any ad, or none. This is a contest of skill and we intend to do our best to outwit you. We invite you to do your best to outwit us! 1. This is a family fun contest. Entries are welcome from every member of the family old enough to fill out their own entry. Anyone may enter except employees of the paper. You may submit one entry per person at any or all of the merchants whose ads appear in the DESIGNATED HEAVY BORDER. 2. Nothing to buy, use any slip of paper for entry blank. Not necessary to be present to win. Not necessary to be a subscriber to the paper, however we welcome you. 3. The Mystery Personality may be anyone in the Mt. Pleasant area. Clues to his or her identity will be hidden ONLY in the ads of the sponsoring merchants, which mav include any of the same merchants in the area below or elsewhere in the paper. Many ads will have no clues; some as many as five. This is a contest of skill and we intend to do our best to outwit you. Well be delighted if you succeed in us, in spite of our best efforts. 4. If, by coincidence the name of the Mystery Personality or other information about him happens to appear in news items, these will not count as clues. All clues will be in display ads. 5. To enter, write the name of the person you believe to be the Mystery Personality on a piece of paper. Also list all the clues you can find in all the ads of sponsoring merchants. Put down your name and address and telephone number. Mailed entries will not be accepted, they must be placed in the entry boxes located at one or more of the designated merchants for that week. Dont bring entries to the paper office, please. 6. This weeks contest starts when you receive this issue of the paper and closes Monday of the following week when the stores close. As soon as the boxes are picked up Monday afternoon a drawing will be held from the combined entries. The first entry drawn that correctly identifies the Mystery Personality will win a $7.00 Merchant Certificate. If that entry also lists all the clues, and no more, hidden in the various ads of the sponsoring merchants a BONUS of $25.00 will be added. Whenever this BONUS is not won, it will be added to the next weeks bonus which will continue to grow until it is won. 8. The Contest will run for 16 weeks. Family participation gives you a better chance to win. Your wife, husband, or one of your youngsters may spot a clue you missed. GOOD HUNTING. James Bond never had it so good, local fans get paid for having fun. Start looking for cluse in this Mystery Personality section. All the clues will relate to one local person. See if you can identify him, or her. Then see if you can locate ALL the clues in this issue that apply to that person. Check first all the little ads in the Mystery Personality section, then go to any other ads of any of the sponsoring merchants in this issue. Remember we give you a LITTLE BIT OF HELP, a star in the small ad of the Mystery personality section means that same merchant has one or more ads elsewhere in this issue of the paper. Will there be clues in those other ads? Why dont you check and see. ONLY ONE ENTRY PER PERSON IN ANY ONE STORE; more than one will disqualify all entries of that person for that week. Remember you dont have to buy anything to enter, you dont need any special entry blank, you dont have to be present at the drawing to win, and you dont need to be a subscriber to the newspaper to enter. The contest is just a lot of fun and a challenge for the whole community. Remember also, every member of the family who is old enough to read and write, to find his or her own clues, and fill out his or her own entry blank is welcome to enter.
