Applications are being accepted by LaRue J. Beck, School Lunch Supervisor at the district office in Mt. Pleasant on or before 4:30 p.m. Monday, October 31, 1977. Nine new members were initiated into the Fairview Lions Club at their monthly dinner social held at Meadow Lane Lodge this month. The new Lions include Bill Keller, Tom Bruton, Wilford Wheeler, Jerry Nelson, Harris Cheney, Lawrence Larsen, Dell Barentsen, Kelly Draper and Robert Nielson. Zone Chairman Bob Stoddard also visited wthz the club that evening. Wales lists nominees Sorensen II. McDonald are expecting to on election day can vote absentee, if they complete the proper applications for voting absentee. Citizens who are already registered to vote can pick up or send for an application blank from their city recorder. After the application is completed the recorder will give the individual an absentee ballot. The ballot must be returned to the city hall or postmarked by November 8. If you voted in the last election, and havent changed addresses, youre undoubtedly registered and will have no problem on November 8 when you go to cast your ballot for the candidate of your choice. However, if you have just turned 18 years of age, have never voted, have changed your place of residence, or have not voted in any of the most recent elections, then you had better get down to the local registration agent or to the county clerks office in Manti. Lamb family of Wales with both he and his son Jay B. Lamb running in town board elections this year. They are on different party tickets but are not running against each other. The father, William D., is on the Progressive ticket for Council member and son Jay B. is making the run for the position of Mayor on the Conservative ticket. Along with Jay B. Lamb for Mayor the Conservative ticket lists Newel F. Rees for council. Terry Merril was selected to run for the council also, but withdrew when he moved to Arizona last week. Progressive ticket candidates are Robert Ray Jackman for Mayor and for Council Byron L. Davis and William D. Lamb. Mr. Lamb Jay B. Lamb (no picture available) was born in Mt. Pleasant November 11, 1953 and lived for part of his childhood in Wales. He graduated from Kearns High School in 1972 and spent four summers as cowherd for Wales-MoroCattle Association. He worked in Granger at Generator Exchange and in Kearns as a mechanic, and is presently employed at Moroni Feed Company as a mixer. He rtiarried Connie Aldridge in Kearns, and they have a daughter Theresa Rose. They moved to Wales in April 1976 and purchased the home formerly owned by the A.J. Rees family. Mr. Jackman are Robert, Eric, Karen, and Becky of Wales; Victor Ray of Sandy; Mrs. Kelli Newenschwander, Sandy; Mrs. Marci Mills, Salt Lake City and four grandchildren, Nicole and Ryan Newenschwander, Stacey Jackman and Shannon Bills. Mr. Rees Mewel F. Rees is a lifelong resident of Wales. He was born in 1925, attended Wales school, graduated from Moroni High School and served in the U.S. Navy in WWII where he spent much of his time in Guam and Saipan. He is a lifelong farmer and also is employed at NRP, Inc. in Nephi. He has served on the Town Board and held many LDS Church positions including that of bishop of Wales Ward for nine years. Mr. Rees is married to the former Euncie Lamb and thev are the parents of eight children: Marie Willey, Idaho Falls, Ida.; David, Moorhead, Ky.; Burke, Bloomington, Ind.; Fred, Salt Lake City; and Susan, Nancy, Becky and Lynn, Wales. Robert Ray Jackman was bom in Murray," and graduated from high school there. He served as bishop and counselor in the bishopric in Murray and was on the High Council for one and a half years before moving to Wales fourteen months ago. He is now a counselor in the bishopric and APYM and APYW programs. Mr. Jackman owned a cabinet shop in Murray and built the business from scratch. When the family moved to Wales he sold one half of the business to his oldest son and moved the planing part to Wales. to LaWayne He is married Chiristensen who was born in Escalante but lived in Salt Lake City. They have four children and he has three children by a previous marriage. The children visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harold L. Mickel. Gregg Howell from Salt Lake City and Blake Howell of Manti visited during the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Vero Aiken. Davis was born in Wales, attended school there and graduated from North Sanpete' High School. He is presently sferving as Wales Town Clerk, and is employed at Moroni Feed Co. Mr. Davis served an LDS mission in Chile, South America, is presently serving as Wales Ward Clerk, and has held other church positions. He is married to the former Mary Lou Rosquist and they are the parentsibf four daughters, Wendy, Kelli, Leslie and Jaymie. Mr. Lamb William D. Lamb was born in Wales, attended Wales school, graduated from Moroni High School and served in the 224th unit, U.S. Army during WWII. He married Patsy Wilcox of Mt. Pleasant and they moved to Kearns where he was employed for eighteen years at Hercules. While in Kearns Mr. Lamb served for several years as Ward clerk in the LDS Church, was a counselor in the Sunday School presidency, and a Scoutmaster. The Lambs are the parents of three sons, Jay B.; Tom and Art. Since their move back to Wales two years ago Mr. Lamb has been employed in agriculture. fi Jti William D. Mr. and Mrs. Rodney L. Mellor enjoyed luncheon last Monday with Mr. Mellors fellow members of Rotary Club at The guest speaker was the United States Attorney for the District of Utah, Ramon Child. Mr. Child addressed the Club regarding the misuse of office by certain public officials in the State of Utah.
