We extend a very sincere thank you to Mayor Baxter and his and always a wish for the best. Spring City mayor writes views Dear Friends: After several years as your Mayor, for which I thank you, I today retire. It has been a pleasure, (with some headaches) to have been permitted to serve you. I havent gotten everything done that I would have liked, but how many do. If my administration has been good or bad, lets leave that to the historians. Secondly, I must express my eternal thanks of gratitude to Mrs. Lila Rae Allred, treasurer and Mar Dye clerk for their keeping our record in such beautiful shape. Every auditor, (we must have our book audited every two years) have been lavish in their praise the way our books have been kept. Thirdly let me express my sincere thanks for your response to our cemetery program. Please give the incoming Mayor and the rest of the city official your complete support. , You know the finest people in the world live right here in Spring City, and these same fine people are they who make nice cities and places to live. Castro, who was a member of Wasatch Adacemy faculty for the past three years, was recently commissioned a first lieutenant in the United State Army, according to Sergeant First Class Delbert Redd, the Army Recruiter in Richfield. On January 6 she began Womens Army Corps officer training at Fort McClellan, Alabama. Here she will learn the basics of being an officer in the Army with emphasis on 8 Mr. and Mrs. Karl Finlinson of Provo visited for the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Howard Blackham. The infant son of Donald and Terri Pedersen was named Sunday by Bishop Christensen. He was given the name of Chad Pedersen. Dinner guests after the services at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Nevert Stevens were Mr. and Mrs. E. Pedersen of Spring City; grandparents; ts Mr. and Mrs. Olson of Fourntain Lawrence Green and Delena Stevens of Moroni. The A.R.C. Club and their partners enjoyed New Years Eve at the Fine Arts Center in Nephi complete with hats and noise makers. A smorgasbord dinner was served and then dancing was enjoyed to the delightful organ music played by Earl Warner. Gloria is a graduate of College in Middlebury, Vermont, with a masters degree in the Spanish language. She also attended Saint Marys Nursing School and Saint Josephs College in Gary, Indiana, where she became a Registered Nurse. She taught Spanish at the Adademy during her three years in Mount Mid-dlebu- Pleasant Tony Howell visited on Saturday with Bishop and Mrs Mark Christensen. He will be remembered as the young man who made his home with the Christensen's during the summer and is a recent convert to the church. He spent the Christmas holidays in Calgary, Canada as a guest of his sister. Bishop Christensen told us the missionaries from our ward laboring in the Japanese Mission are doing very well. Sister Diana Blackham has been made a senior companion after having only been in the mission for three months and they all send their thanks to the ward members for remembering them at Christmas. They signaled to turn off the road and had pulled off when a heavy truck crashed into the back of their car. Verbena suffered a whip lash but was treated for it and is wearing a collar to help correct it. The entire back of their car was crashed in and also on the left side above the back wheel. New Years day they attended the Rose Parade where they had seats at the front so they could see it all and it was really beautiful.
