| Show SHOCKING CASE OF this city was stirred to its very center last saturday evening by i report that a fiend had been at work in the community and had attempted to carry out his devilish purpose the man is not a resident of this city excepting periodically and he has not been in the community for a number of months until just recently saturday afternoon it appears that he hired a rig at glovers stable and went forth in his driving about the city he accosted a little girl who must be about eight years of age who was returning home from delivering milk to a neighbor coaxed her into his buggy then drove off to the fields west of the city where the dastardly attempt was made ile he then drove the little girl home meeting her mama on the way and she snatched the child from the buggy g and the man drove oft off the child reported re what had been done and the officers were notified the arrest was v as made as the man drove into the livery stable with the outfit and lie was landed in the county jail A preliminary hearing was given him before justice denmark jensen monday at which time he admitted his guilt making mailing tho the excuse that he had been suffering with a terrible headache for several days which drove him to commit the act justice jensen bound him over to the district court under bonds of 2000 which the man was unable to furnish so he will languish in jail until his bis case is disposed of in the district court since the shocking affair mentioned above happened several little girls in the ity have related to paronia parents that tbt tay they have been accosted recently by a man who tallied talked pleasantly to them and invited them to take a ride with him at the same timo time offering inducements in the shape of money whether it Is the same bane individual or not has boa not been determined but that a fiend has been abroad is very wk M A ry P |
