| Show BOND ELECTION NEXT communicated at the meeting held in the commercial club rooms last saturday evening it was decided by one of the speakers that at the recent school electon only one vote in the county south of brigham city was cast in favor of the 3 3 mill tax and now realizing that a great rest mistake was made dozens are claiming that vote it matters not 7 nether ghether this statement is correct or not a very serious mistake was made while I 1 believe the people would have havoc taken more kandl kindly to a bond proposition yet the 3 mill tax should have been voted in as much as that was the method adopted by the school board to raise the money which we are so seriously in need of for the erection of school houses in the various parts ot of the county and the mistake is all the more apparent when we consider that the public utility tax pays about 60 50 per cent of all our taxes and this together with A ith other corporations taxes make about 65 per cent ot of the taxes that we realize from this source and the people pay the other one third and yet all of the objections come from this one third who are the direct beneficiaries the same reason reasoning ing holds equally good in the coming bond election it if this one third votes down the bond they will make a grat gr at mistake the corporations are only interested in our roads in an indirect way while the people are directly bene fitted if the people yote vote to bond the money will be used to improve the roads and bridges in the various parts of the county bridges will be built over grouse creek and deep creek where they are badly needed abut about alve bridges will be built over faiai river and three over box elder creek the road into the park valley country will be greatly improved and also the road via Snow snowville ville to the bunc junc looked after the road ni f caiar north through blue blu creek valloy valley to the idaho line will be put in good traveling condition and while the co will not be able to build I 1 macadamized roads throughout the county yet there is is reason to believe that some permanent roads will be built out in the bear river valley the people of 0 dox box elder should realize that it is essential to vote the bond now it if we delay our public utility tax will be taken from us and that justly too if we feel to take advantage of our opportunity port unity lot let us get busy tie up our public utilities now and do not let it go to pay the debts of other counties the efforts of some to drag this matter into politics should be denounced noun ced let us all pull together and vote voie for bonds |
