The pop singer and actress decidedto sell the house, on 1.5 acres, becauseshe is “scaling down” and spending more time on her farm with her family in Australia, sources say. Newton-John, 47, was born in England but was raised in Australia. Her Malibu househas seyen bedrooms andeight baths with guest quarters in about 10,000 square feet. The fivelevel Santa Fe-style home also hasa six-car garage, lap pool, spa, 12-seat theater, billiard room, gym andgolfcart path from thebluff to 150 feet of beach. Newton-John and her husband, actor Matt Lattanzi, worked with architect James Chudato see that the home was environmentally conscious in its design and construction, using nontoxic building materials as well as air filtering and water purification systems. The house was completed in 1993. oo Oo George Burns’ Beverly Hills home of more than 60 years came on the market and wassold last week for close to its asking price of just under $2 million, sourcessay. Burns, who died March 9 at age 100, had lived in the big white house since he built it for his wife and acting partner, Gracie Allen, whodied in 1964.
