Rally 9 A petition urging Congress to declare square dancing the national folk dance was presented to state and local officials by sev- eral - Tri-Valle- y Square Dance Organization sponsored the Square Dance at the State Rally Capitol evening. Square-dancin- Saturday g clubs throughout the state attended the rally as about 50 squares each composed of four couples, on the Capitols east parking lot. The dancers signed the petition, which supports Congressional approval of House Joint Resolution 69, to get square dancing officially named the national folk dance. Attending dignita-rite- s included Sen. Jake Gam, Gov. Scott M. Mathe-son- , and representatives from the offices of Sen. Orrin Hatch, and Mayor Ted L. Wilson.
