DAN WITBECK, Sterling Answer by Prof. E. G. Titus, A. C. U. inc surycnnme poisoning is tijc best means of getting rid of mice in grain and hay fields. The earlier in the year that the poisoning is begun be-gun the more satisfactory the results ft wi'l be. It will be found that or- $ dinary old tin cans can be crushed into proper shape to put the poison in so that birds will not be likely to get hold of it and be killed. Strychnine, Strychnic-sulphatc, 1 J oz., borax J4 oz., water 2 qts., crack- I cd wheat Jj bushel. Dissolve one ounce strychnia-sul- I fate in two quarts boiling water, to I which has been added one-half' ounce I borax (this prevents moulding). To this add one-half bushel cracked I wheat, coarse bran or. other rougn I feed. When the grain has taken up J all the water, roll it in a mixture of flour and sugar, using two pounds tD ten pounds flour (this will conceal the bitter taste of the strychnine). Place n run-ways or feeding places for mice. Crush a tin can until only a passage-way for mice is left and place poison in this.
