Show BOOK ON AGRICULTURE. A new book on agriculture has just made its appearance. The author is Prof. B. C. BufTuni, for many years Professor of Agriculture in the Wyoming Wyo-ming State University and the Colorado Colo-rado Agricultural College, and Director Di-rector of the Wyoming Experiment Station. The title of the book is 1 Arid Agriculture," and as the name suggests, it is work dealing entirely with western conditions. The first five chapters are devoted to Dry Farming and the next three chapters to irrigation. There arc several chapters ejevoted to farm crops. The crops selected for discussion being all western grown crops. The book deals also with weeds, insect enemies, ene-mies, plant disease, ranging of livestock, live-stock, feeding, breeding, Animal surgery, sur-gery, and home building. The book is the first of the kind to be written in and for that great- section of country, coun-try, known as arid America, and 's a welcome addition to our librarv. We commend the work most highly and trust that the farmers of Utah will give it the same generous reception recep-tion It has already met in our sister states.
