fried it was subsequently ordered that the bill be printed before further consideration by the council carlisle presented a report from the committee on printing recommending that G C lambert be appointed C public d alic printer the report was adopted marshall presented a bill for the classification and government of municipal corporations and towns read first time by title and referred young presented a bill tor for the registration at al voters and the conduct of elections referred to committee on elections carlisle presented a bill for an act amending an act for the incorporation of smithfield city woolley moved that the gentleman in view of at congressional action against special legislation be permitted to withdraw it marshall moved its reference to the abe committee on municipal corporations and towns giving his bis reasons tor for so i dolne doing mr carlisle seconded the tle motion and the bill was referred shurtliff moved that when the council adjourn it be till monday at 2 arm carried A communication was received from the house no notifying ti ng the council ot of the passage of D f C F 1 by the house with amendments amendee ats referred to the committee on judiciary jadi ciary woolley presented presen teda a bill C F 8 tor for the conduct and keeping of patients within ane insane asylum referred to committee on indale asylums ashall moved to adjourn till monday at 2 p m benediction by the chaplain HOUSE at 2 precisely the speaker called the house to order the first business after roll call etc was the arese prese presentation of a memorial by creer signed by J T cobb and others asking the assembly to take action relative to nominations of officers by different political parties creer remarked marked le that the same same document had re repeatedly been presented to former ass assemblies malies and that he had no recommendations to make respecting its disposition on motion of king the memorial was tabled A message from the council was read announcing that that body had adopted council resolution no 4 providing for furnishing chairmen of committees with reat registers for business referred to committees and council concurrent resolution no 5 providing for a joint standing corn com on memorials to consist of three members of each house bouse kins kinec moved concurrence non but withdrew in favor of richards motion I 1 to ine the election of borg georgejr George jC lumbert lambert as public printer i allen alien asked if mr me lambert was the lowest responsible bidder jones replied in the affirmative allen alien then moved the adoption of the report thurman moved that the report be so amended as to show that therom the committees mit tees nominee was the lowest bidder but substituted for that motion one to recommit the m matter ater to the committee in answer to hatch jones said that five printing houses in the city were invited to hand hy by 10 a m today and three of them did so howell moved to reconsider the vote to recommit as the house had elicited all needful information thurman Thu favored howell stated that the committee on printing nad bail filled filien directing their action burman members of the committee commit tee were chosen from places south of salt lake county though the population and wealth of the northern bof thern portion of the territory were much the greater thurman announced that he would offer a substitute for the entire bill at the proper time richards amendment was adopted thurman moved to strike of the bill after tile the co enacting acting clause and
