And as Key Club officer, Barry Lucero, said, It was a smash.' And a smash it was, for those prized bucks during the deer hunt and those who cashed in as big winners in the Key Club event. Taking first place in the 10-d- recently concluded event was Tom Fugate of Clearfield who works in the city with the post office. Under the Judging system used in this contest, Tom scored 85.0 points and took home the top prize. Finishing second was Dale Johnston with 80.5 points. Jeff Brimhall and Jim Hart tied for the third place position with 78.0 points. Several valuable and worthy prizes were donated by local merchants for the yearly event including the Key Club, Jensen's Concrete Construction, Barlow Furniture, Toms Auto, Smith and Edwards, Western Auto, Martin Bros., Chandlers Rexall Drugs, Wear House, Clearfield Auto Parts, McEntire and Hilton, Pizza Hunt, Lakeside Lanes, Baskin Robbins and the Gift House. Nile Carlsen, a Clearfield High instructor took fifth place with a 78.5 measurement. Steve Neilson was sixth, Brent Brizzie took seventh and Steve Bierwolf was eighth. Dave Robinson and Dale Cheney were in ninth and tenth place. Other top finishers and those awarded Clearfield High. and Barry Lucero, headed the 1979 Clearfield High Big Buck Contest.
