The sword is over 400 years old and holds a most interesting story. Samurai is an old Japanese warrior class. The members once practiced their skill as swordsmen by riding horseback through the countryside lopping off the heads of the poorer class farmers and peasants. The sword owned by Commander Waldee has an inscription on its handle indicating that the sword was once used to destroy two bodies with one swing.
