Benson Thursday were Royden Benson and family Hazel Rigby, Mr. and Mrs. Henry N recognition of their outstanding records in 1948 National Dairy Foods Demonstrations and Leadership programs five Utah Sutherland and Elizabeth Ann, club members will receive state awards of gold watches. The state Mr. and Mrs. Alfonzo Christensen, winners and brief outlines of their records follow: Isaac Jacobsen, Mr. and Mrs. Ned Miles and Salt Lake City and daughter Paula, Mr. and Mrs, Lewis Smith and two children, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Cooley and 2 children, Mr. and Mrs. Kernal Toolson and Mr. and. Mrs. Leonard Miles of Smithfield, and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Sutherland joined the group in the evening. State Honors to Utah 4-H- ers 4-- H Dir. and Mrs. Osmond Alvis and La Vona Glen Daw for their work in club and Gilgen children motored to DIagna and spent Thanksgiving visiting their relatives. They were dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Neusimeyer. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Burgaine of Logan and James Miller were dinner guests of DIr. and Mrs. Kenneth Benson and family and Mrs. Gince Peterson for Thanksgiving dinner. Mr. and Mrs. Ara Jenkins and 3 sons motored to Soda Springs and enjoyed turkey dinner with her sister Mr. and Mrs. Gunnell Marie Nelson com- munity leadership, Glen Daw, 17, of Murray, and La Vona Gilgen, 18, of Logan, have been named boy and girl State winners in the National 1948 Leadership 4-- H program. In addition to serving leader, president, vice-preside- as junior nt and reporter, Glen helped to reorganize his local club. After finishing college, he plans to be a leader in the South Cotton Wood- ward Club. La Vona has been president, secretary and reporter of her loclub and served as a cal one year. She also leader junior has been active in the clothing project and led a Sew and Sew 4-- younger girls. Besides the girls were instructed prevention, health and demonstrations. La Vona sang with a choral group who took part in many and community events. In recognition of their achievements, each received a gold wrist watch provided by Edward Foss Wilson, Chicago club of sewing, in fire 4-- H 17-jew- el meat packer. Utah winners in the 1948 Na-- Renee Jones and Clara Grlmsliaw tional 4-- II Dairy Foods Demon- strations program are (individual) Marie Nelson, 14, of Price, and (team) Renee Jones, 15, and Clara Grimshaw, 15, both of Cedar City. Marie demonstrated Parker House Rolls, and the teams demonstration was Enriched Ice Cream. The purpose of these demonstrations is to learn the value of dairy products as food, to demonstrate to others how to prepare such dishes and to gain experinece in public speaking.
