Robert Maughan Barron, 24, who was killed in action at Bologna, Italy, April 21, 1945, were conducted Monday by William Horlacher, bishop, in the Logan Eleventh ward LDS chapel. Burial was in the Logan city cemetery under the direction of the W. Loyal Hall mortuary. Military Services were conducted by the American Legion Post No. 7 of Lo gan. Sgt. Barron was born at Spring-vill- e, Utah county, Jan. 14, 1921, the son of George Lufkin and Ada Maughan Barron. He graduated from the Springville high school and attended the Utah State Agricultural college where he was majoring in forestry. While at college he was a member of the Utah State Foresters club. Intercollegiate Knights, reserve officers training corps and was active in dramatics. He played a leading role in Brother Rat, produced by the college. He entered the military service July, 1942, and trained with the infantry at Camp Robinson, Little Rock, Ark. He was awarded the bronze star for bravery in action with the 337th regiment of the 85th infantry division following the capture of 200 German prisoners in Italy. Surviving are his parents, Phoenix, Ariz.; a sister, Mrs. Dorothy Barron Switzer, Linden, Ind.; grandmother, Mrs Maughan, Logan; grandmother, Mrs. W. G. He spoke on- the . - subject of Czechoslovakia and as they exist there today. During the service he had their two little girls blessed and named, a baby born in Ogden a short time ago, named Adell, 'and little girl about 19 months old who was born in Prague, Chechoslovakia. It had 'been the desire of Mr. and Mrs. Taggart to bring their children jhome to Lewiston First ward to have them blessed and named by their father, James Taggart. !. Officiating in the ceremony were Bishop L. D. Bodily, Spencer Taggart, the father of the children and the grandfather, James Tag-"ga.who. pronounced the blessing. Mrs. .
