She was formerly employed as a secretary for the vice president of UMWA District 22. She dedicated her life and was baptized as one of Jehovahs Witnesses July 2, 1988. Connie was devoted to her family and she adored her grandchil- White. She married Irvin Charles Davies May 31, 1930 in Price; marriage later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died dren; they were the light of her life. She spent her life caring for others, always putting their needs and interests ahead of her own. She was an accomplished pianist and vocalist who shared where she served in many positions. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by two sifters, Eunice Davies, Downey, Calif.; Martha Clavel, Tustin, Calif.; a grandson and two granddaughters, Scott Davies, Helper; Debbie Lee, West Jordan; Virginia Christensen, Salt Lake City; 10 grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sons, John Wade Davies and Irvin C. Davies Jr. Graveside services were Monday, Aug. 8, at Price City Cemetery, with a viewing Sunday evening at Mitchell Chapel. Feb. 2, 1968. She was a longtime resident of Helper. Virginia was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of her talent with family and friends. We who knew her loved those who did not would have. She is gone now, but will always live in our hearts, as we her anxiously await to reunite with her in paradise on earth. We love Alice Stevenson PRICE Alice (Connie) Stevenson, age 64, died Aug. 6, 1994 in a Price hospital. She was bom Sept. 4, 1929 in Sunset reflections days have preceded several hot summer nights the past few weeks. Baird Helper City Recorder NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING Acid Rain Provisions Published The Air Quality Board proposes a new rule, R307-16- , Acid Rain Requirements, to incorporate by reference the provisions of 40 CFR Part 72, to implement an acid rain program. Part 72 details the responsibilities of states in Phase II permitting, which in Utah includes all utility boilers operated by Deseret Generation and Transmission, Intermountain Power Project, and PacifiCorp. The new state rule defines permitting authority to mean the Executive Secretary of the Air Quality Board, while Administrator means the Administrator of EPA. The new rule provides that provisions of Part 72 take precedence over any conflicting or missing provisions in R307-15- , Operating Permit Requirements. A public hearing will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 1994, at 6:00 PM at the Department of Environmental Quality, Room 201, at 168 N. 1950 West in Salt Lake City. In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act', individuals needing special accomodations (including auxiliary communicative aids and services) during this hearing should notify Charlene Lamph at 162 North 1950 West, Salt Lake City, or call 536-4- 4 13 at least three working days before the meetings. She was preceded in death by her sister, Sadie Westenskow, on Dec. 30, 1993; two brothers, George and Andrew; and a sister, Irene Stambaugh. The Bureau of Land Management and Office of Surface Mining participated as cooperating agencies. Based on the environmental conditions of the area, public comments, and anticipated impacts, it is the intent of the Forest Service to select Alternative 2, which would allow the surface facilities and mining under escarpments as proposed, with m itigation measures to minimize impacts.
