The purposeofthe Sterling Scholar awards program is to publicly recognize and encourage the pursuit of excellence in scholarsh ip, leadership, and citizenship of high school seniors. Although much emphasis is placed on region competition, its a great honor to be recognized as a Sterling Scholar nominee at the high school level by teachers and administrators, said Committee Chairman Mark Anderson who resides in Ephraim.
