The course included a philosophy of historic preservation practices for the repair, cleaning, coating and the use of decorative and flat plaster in new construction. The course was taught by master craftsman Dick Cook at Snow College. Fifteen people attended, the maximum number allowed, and all got what they expected. The students worked on a variety of surfaces such as rock, metal, and sheet rock plaster. Russ Mendenhall, Snow College Professor of Building Construction, commented that this project was a great opportun ity for students because 1 sold--mo- re re plaster is a skill you learn. It takes training and practice because its critical that the mixing for the three separate plasters is done correctly. There will be three other building skills workshops offered to students, tradespeople, and interested public. On April there will be a and wood preservation worka decorative shop; on April painting course will be offered; and on there will be a log and timber June rehabilitation course.
