The boys played one game each day to progress to the championship game on Saturday. North Sevier placed second overall. Travis Story, son of Scott and Paula Story; and Chad Mickelsen, son of Myron and Joy Mickelsen, were both named to the team. by Ann Braithw aite One loss for North Seviers Wolf Women at the Region 13 tournament gave them fourth place in Region 13. It was held last Thursday. Friday, and Saturday at Monticello High School. Thursday. North Sex ier had no problem with Monticello. The Wolves gained a lead and never allowed it to slip away. The final score w as 45 to 36. Leading scorers were Ann Braithwaite 16, Chasity Peterson 12. Friday was the tough game. North Sevier beat Beaver in regular season, but Beaver had also beaten North Sevier. This game was unpredictable. The score remained close throughout the entire intense game. Beav er made two in the last seconds to win the game 5 to 49. Leading scorers were Ann Braithwaite 17. Shadoe Shaheen 15, and Autumn Rasmussen 7. If the Wolf Women lost, there would be no Saturdays game was state tournament for them. The first half almost made this seem possible. Despite injuries and illnesses among North Sevier's team, the Wolves took control in the fourth quarter to win 63 to 50. Leading scorers were Shadoe Shaheen 20, Ann Braithwaite 15, Angie Haw kins 10. and Autumn Rasmussen r Thursday, the Wolves played the Grand County Red Devils. Because of aggressive defense and intense offense. North Sevier won 55 to 32 and advanced to the semifinals. Leading scorers were Travis Story 16, Chad Mickelsen 15, and Kris Sorenson 8. Friday, the Wolves took on the Beaver Beavers. The competition was great, as the score stayed even betw een the teams. Patience and discipline helped the Wolves defeat Beaver 44 to 38. Leading scorers were Chad Mickelsen 16, Travis Story 16, and Justin Yardley 7. Saturday night, the Wolves were individually introduced in front of the audience that consisted of San Juan fans, North Sevier fans, and just plain basketball fans. This was the Region 13 championship game. Neither the Wolves nor the Broncos ever gained a tremendous lead, w hich make this game the best of the tournament. The Wolves never allowed San Juan's 6'6", and 67" players to take control. Total heart and mind showed in each North Sevier athlete. They never let up! The game seemed to be over when sophomore Joe Shaheen scored a lay-u- p for the Wolves with only eight seconds remaining.
