place had a narrow escape from being killed by a vicious cow shortly after noon today As it is mrs giauque is painfully it if not seriously hurt her 6 year old son james by name wen went t into the yard to drive the cow into estreet th to water when the animal got on the outside she started after the boy whose screams brought his mother to his assistance she had no sooner commenced her work of rescue than the cow turned upon har he hooking her in the breast and trampling upon her mrs Giau ques position was a serious and dangerous one and she undoubtedly would have been killed but for the any of them the trial of harry mills mille at junction utah for the killing of berue lum has been brought to a termination the arguments closed late saturday night and three hours afterwards the jury brought in a verdict of not guilty mills was immediately given his liberty the trial has been a long and tedious one and all concerned are glad that it Is over the arguments to the jury on saturday of of the school in ing him to obtain the name of the place where miss kinards Ken ards mother was from the telegraph operator he refused to answer the telegram saying it was not for him and that he did not know anything about miss kenard when this answer was shown to her she said that the professor was angry because she had drawn the money which she had paid for a years tuition when she left lef t as she did not intend to come back now that her mother was dead and she had no relatives in the country another telegram was then sent to the operator at berkeley asking him where the telegram to miss kenard was from no answer had been received last night might miss kenard says her mother whose name was mary scott had beef been visiting another daughter in fulton missouri who died a short time ago and then she wrote miss kenard that she was coming to visit her and the next thing she heard of her mother was the telegram advising her of her death she also claims to have a grandfather in rotterdam holland who is well to do and who has been paying the expenses of her education A cablegram will probably be sent to him for money which will enable the gialto go to him which she says she is anxious cas of annie kenard is becoming more mysterious last evening she asked for a methodist minister and w was as referred to rev jos wilks she told him her father had been a methodist minister in holland rev wilks invited her to stop at his home till she could learn what had become of her mother and hear from her grandfather this morning sheriff storrs received a telegram from manager keenan of the western union at berkeley california saying no telegrams had been received or sent for annie kenard there also that supt bupt wilkinson of the deaf and dumb asylum claims she was never an inmate of the asylum she was shown a copy of a denver paper re fering to annie brockel brockfield eld a deat deaf and dumb girl who had looked for her mother in denver telling a similar story to miss kenard said she knew nothing about that rev wilks will give the girl a home for a few days in the meantime everything will be done to clear up the mystery the county auditor has completed the valuation of
