| Show IN LITTLE RHODE ISLAND the following is from a letter written by elder joseph AA oderson to his parents lu in this city and received monday afternoon it to is dated thursday aug 6 telegrams received since the writing odthe letter from elder li D you young DR the missionary companion of elder anderson andersen report the latter as again quite III lliso so that hn b P cannot ca d n ot be moved at present his affliction while it to is severe is not regarded as an specially serious except that the rheumatism incapacitates him from miss missionary ionar y duties at present and it may be advisable to change his locality or bring him home until be has fully recovered to further prosecute his labors he says saye 1 I received your letter last week but at that time was wan too ill III to answer it it for the past three weeks I 1 have been very sick nick at present I 1 am much better and the set last few days have been able to get down dowd stairs and walk around the yard my partner wrote to brother richarad Ri charan telling him I 1 would have to be released we have received no answer as yet but my con dilion has so improved that I 1 think I 1 will be able to pull through and remain I 1 do not want to come home borne it I 1 can possibly pull poll through I 1 will do no BO my health has been greatly impaired since I 1 have been here ibave chave endeavored to take tb abc best eare care of myself but in spite of this have been thrown to my bed I 1 had bad been in rhode island inland only two weeks when I 1 was wan seized with a chill at the be time the people here told me I 1 was taking malaria and it has proved to be she be ease we inquired of a doctor as to my aliment ailment and he said it was malaria and kidney trouble and that slam was last fast getting into im my y septem I 1 have suffered with pains that have made me quite weak today I 1 feel like I 1 will soon be well again except for the rheumatism that has crippled me up so that I 1 can hardly get around it is in my hips and the lower part of my body I 1 have a pretty severe cough but am trying to break it up mrs denman the lady whom we got get our room from where we make headquarters in providence has been very wood good and kind to me while I 1 have been sick nick and has done all in her bar power to make we roe comfortable 1 91 I feel so glad that oat I 1 lam am again able to got get around before I 1 was taken down my partner dind and I 1 were traveling without purse or scrip which all elders should co 00 it if i they bey possibly con can As a result we have had to lay jay out twelve and have not found one yet who would entertain up u five out of the twelve nights it rained all night the only shelter we could find was under large trees and the rain soon came through on is these experiences have no do doubt given we me the rheumatism which I 1 am now suffering although the people would nut take us lr we know we have done a good work la in helping to allay sonie some ol of the prejudice which Is ie so prevalent among the ibe people in this region and the gruits of our labor may be reaped in a yes yea r or two to come 1 I know my sickness will worry the abe folks at holeso I 1 have not said much of it IS before I 1 need not net ask for your faith and prayers because I 1 know I 1 bave them constantly that I 1 may have health and strength to fill an honorable mission mie eion and ancl I 1 hope the me lord will enable 0 me to do so ao I 1 have no ino desire to come home now brother richards way may transfer me to another district which will be more suited to my health but I 1 am not well enough to travel as aa yet and will have to remain here until I 1 am better which I 1 hope and expect will be very soon ROOD so eo I 1 can get about and do something |
