Steele, 16, was held in the Fruit Heights 5th Ward Chapel. Jim is a sophomore at Davis High School, where he is a high honor student. He plays percussion in the symphonic band, Davis High Symphony Orchestra, mar- ching band and percussion en- semble. Central Davis Junior High Schools 1987-8- 8 school year cheerleaders are: front, Brandi Gabardi; second row, Keri Bills, left, Jenny Brown; third row, Racheal Falkman, left, Kim Fay; back, Carlie Andrews, left, Julie Barney and Nicole Vaughn. Recently, Jim won the Western States High School Individual Mallet Champion Award at the University of Utah Marching Band competition. He has played basketball, baseball and soccer on local teams. His soccer team placed second in the Davis Cup championship playoff. He is also an avid skier. Jim has received his On My Honor Award and held the position of president in his Teachers quorum. At Camp Maple Dell he was a member of the Leadership Corps, where he assisted in training younger scouts. His leadership abilities and fine scout spirit were greatly appreciated. Jim is the son of Dr. and Mrs. James L. Steele. He is their fourth son to receive the Eagle Scout award.
