day of may 1890 to the office of mounted policeman at a 9 salary of per month that he received skid said salary until the first day of april 1891 that he was ordered by the chief of police to report for detective duty on the fifth day of april 1891 which he did and that his pay was to per month from that time to the present that my appointment as mounted policeman has never been revoked by the city council neither was any action by them reducing my salary that there is now due me from the city the sum of 13 1 3 on account of said unwarranted reduction by the chief of police and the further sum of 23 2 3 being balance due for month of april 1892 making a total due me of v HIS resignation the same gentleman submitted the following to the ron hon mayor and city council gentlemen I 1 hereby
