| Show BOARD OF EDUCATION the board of education met link in regular session january ath at the following members were present armstong Colba colbath tb nelson pike and young president scott in the chair by unanimous consent it was agreed to suspend the regular order of business so as to allow county superintendent stewart to address the board on the question of its financial condition he said that he had been notified by the county treasurer that only a bout about ut half of the territorial apportionment of school moneys had been paid into the treasury up to date but that it would be forthcoming in a few weeks mr re the above information from the county treasurer he believed the entire sum was available and under this thia impression he had notified the various district trustees of the county j that their money was ready for them and inasmuch as many of them were compelled m e to come from a considerable distance he requested the board to wait a dv few days for its apportionment the matter was discussed at some length the prevailing opinion being that if the delay was not more than two or three weeks that the request might be granted mr pike moved that the board waive its right to the tb county fund as requested mr nelson said the board should fi flud ad out how bow much money it had on hand before taking such action he moved that the statement be received and the cou county n ty superintendent be requested to apportion the cites money as fast as possible M was finally agreed that the superintendent in should turn over to the city board at once and no do demand would be made upon him until towe time in the futile zions savings bank notified the board that they held a note against the fifth district which they had vainly tried to collect the clerk was waa instructed to notify the bank to send in a certified copy of the note in order that the board could have something to act on architect monheim reported that the root roof on the fourteenth district school building was all right and becom mended payment the committee on buildings W H whitney submitted a proposition to rent a building for school purposes on first south and eighth purposes building TREASURER REPORT the report of the treasurer of the board for the month of november was then received and referred to the committe committee eon on finance further work on the fourteenth dis
