| Show THE WORKING MEN HAVE EYES the working men of this city who in convention assembled adopted a ticket representative of their class must feel highly complimented dented ted by the epithets hurled at them from the smut machine of the liberal party the tribune cannot do better service to the cause of the majority of the voters in this county than by continuing its abuse of the laboring element that will not jump at its dictation gentiles who have been employed by 11 mormon employers employer and by the city council or by officers appointed by that body must smile emile at the recklessness of that organ in affirming again and again that cormons mormons Mor mons do not give work to geni genales ilesi and that no gentile was ever employed by the mormon city government ern ment the workingmen who attended the open air meeting of their party on tuesday july if they saw the report of the tribune which completely reversed the facts in regard to the relative numbers present at that assembly and the small gathering of the opposition will know how much reliance to place on other assertions of the organ of slander and falsehood i e liberalism salt lake workmen must have observed the fact that a large number of hands are put to labor on the sewers and other public works who are strangers and some of them pretty tough looking citizens and also that they take things very easily so as to put in their beir time such observers will note how salt lake work has been found for salt lake workmen 74 and appreciate the cL liberal iberal cry of last winter they will also see through the thin pretence predence pre tence of assailing an orator who has had nothing to do with the formation of the independent Working mens party or the inde pendent Working mens menIs ticket as though he be was the head and front of the whole matter they rhey will also understand that the smut machine is turned on him without stint because he will not be a tool for the liberal party the workingmen are not fools and therefore none of the abuse heaped upon them or the glittering but shallow inducements held out to them to go back on their own party and their own candidates candidate swill will have any effect except to make them unite and with their friends carry the election monday aug 4 |
