NEWS have learned through its columns of the death ol of elder E 2 taylor ol of the body being sent home and of its final anal interment but as no detailed account of his travels and success as a mis flonary aary nary wr nor his illness has been given no doubt they would like to become cognizant of the facts the late elder EZ E Z taylor was a son 1 county bounty utah and was waa a resident of that place having received an appointment to labor as a missionary in the southern states he left his home heme accompanied by his bis family on jan 27 1887 and proceeded broce eded to harrisville Harris vilie his wife being a daughter of bishop P G ta Tayl wile lor of that daughter p place I 1 ace here he be left his wife and two children proceeded to salt lake city and itter after receiving necessary instructions and making needful he left for chattanooga tenn where he arrived about febrey february IS 18 1887 he was there assigned to labor abor a in the virginia con ference ter euce he arrived arrild d at his field of labor in nelson and rockbridge counties on february 21 and next da lair the writer who Is his bis brodber broth er lik ia law met lam him myself and elder taylor labored together in this field nearly eight months until conference which was held on october 15 and 16 1887 at said co cona ference elder taylor was assigned to labor with lelder homer wolf in greene and albemarle counties after ren binl in su an old field ain greene con county n lor for three ee weeks they went into albam albemarle ale 0 county nty to try to open up a 4 new field after ret remaining haining in albemarle for ty two to M months and meeting with but little success they received counsel from elder kilo milo A hendricks the then president of the virginia Virgin li conference to return to grene greene co which they did and remained one week elder taylor then received instructions to go and assist elders M A headricks and J W tate in amhurst rockbridge and nelson counties in imm immigration I 1 gration matters elder taylor accordingly arrived there on january 21 1888 und and labored labore in the interest of gw gering till aar apr april 2 whew when a conmey of 16 left that field and joined itte e main immigrant company at chattanooga elder hendricks having been released returned to utah uta with said company elders taylor J baie B birie and myself went to abnot another er part of amherst county where the two former remained encouraging the saints in that field until july 16 when they visited a family of saints who live on a breach branch of the james river about twelve miles from weir their field but the family rot not being at home on their arrival toey sat on the bank of the tae stream and cooled off having been perspiring f fre re dy ay on july they to their field and on july I 1 came to their field and found both elders quite ill the same evening sider ririe birle had bad a chill but after a few days both elders felt much better OU on july I 1 morning D during aring the baythe day the writer returned to again administer to the child but on returning to the eldes elders in the evening found both elders worse from august 1 to 61 6 1 waited on the elders alone they having attacks attack of dumb clalla and lever every other day spells coming on each at about I 1 pm and lasting till 9 pm on august 6 sisters whitmore and Ra misey end and mr mason came and remained assist assis to ing ill all the they could for the next three days both eldera continued to grow worse having chills every day previous to this dur during ingall all their sickness ne neither ir elder ider had bad retained any food nor medicine on his bis stomach but bat would vomit when either was administered OH A august 19 st law elder alrie began to iBi imp prove 6 elder taylor lay quiet all night abid and 4 hie he departed this life with comparative ease during elder taylors labors in the southern mission for eighteen months he be baptized four persons confirmed six and blessed one child ile he was a good faithful eiger energetic getic elder and willing to obey counsel he had a stern firm arm though amiable disposition was a kind father and leaves a wife and three children and a host of relatives and friends to mourn his loss he was highly spoken of by his traveling companions the saints and their friends both at home and abroad the writer and
