| Show TIRE the LA LADIES MEMORIAL THE memorial of the women of utah presented in the senate of the united states on the ath aj 0 april by mr blair of new hampshire has been printed in the Cyon congressional gressional secord record it cannot fall fail to th impress all who read it with the grievances it sets forth and the necessity for some relief from the wrongs which have been imposed upon suffering utah the outrages that have been perpetrated in the name of law have pressed with particular severity upon the women and children of this territory they have been exposed to insults and abuses from officers of the law that would nave have provoked extreme violence in any other part of the union and such proceedings are mike alike disgraceful to those who have personally engaged in them and those who have aided and abetted or officially permitted them the ladies have done well to utter their protest and to present their petition for redress the facts they set forth cannot be successfully disputed they have exaggerated nothing in and in the recital of their wrongs tle they y have maintained a moderation that must command respect the memorial mortal will be widely read and will certainly haye a good effect we congratulate the ladies on im the prominence already gained for their movement in the cause of justice and equal rights |
