GREAT AMOUNT OF DAMAGE many acres of valuable farming land llave bave been destroyed by the foods floods and many acres are still under water hundreds of bushels of grain and scores score of tons of hay have been ruined and it is reported that in some places the farmers will not be able to raise enough n oll oli grain to bread them through h the coming year communication iby teams is still cut off between here and ogden and weber valleys the people of the former place travel over the mountains to reach the city while the weber valley folks can come and return by rall rali la places distant from the ravages of the tho rivers ivers x the crops generally promise a prolific yield ven ahe the he frequent heavy rain storms have rendered irrigation thus far un unnecessary unnecessary and more time has been given to cui cut cultivating tt the land in lil ogden valley the crops are resorted 0 r t e to be in a more flourishing con 1 t i 0 n and to give promise of greater increase than they from the west side of the weber river that these devouring worms exist there by millions and are already very destructive fly aly ay iy informant said they are taking the ground fruits poisoning the lucern and also aiso commencing in some places to DEVOUR THE WHEAT where they exist in the fields in such myriads it is almost impossible to night fight and destroy them without atthe at the same time very much injuring if not ruining the crops whether it is better to let the worms eat cat the grain to kill them off or at least all that tut can be killed and at the same time destroy much of the present seasons grain and vegetation I 1 cannot tell but it cen ainaly would be very difficult to get at them now they are beginning to cause much anxiety among some of our gr angers THE HEALTH of the
