Seidman and other witnesses testified at a hearing called bv Rep. David Pryor, who worked early this year as a volunteer in nursing homes in the Washington, D.C., area. Three churches have not yet acted on the plan, adopted by COCU in St. Louis last March. They are the United Church of Christ, the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. Other COCU are the participants Methodist African Episcopal, African Methodist Episcopal Zion, United Meth-odir- t, United Presbyterian and P r e sbyterian U.S. churches. Pryor has proposed an investigation of nursing homes and regulations governing them by a select House committee. Todays session drew about 300, including many eiuerly expepersons with riences to recount, and representatives of groups concerned with the problem. Among statements presented was one by Miss Gu. hild Jakobson, who said she has been in 11 nursing homes. At one, she said, I almost starved to death.
